Absolutely shocking. They have no concept of marking, or tackling come to that. No wonder Sarriball looks explosive in Italy, its a league of mannequins. Trust me, is not like this. Italian football is very complicated, is all about tactics, i can understand if you don't like it, it is not easy to approach. Your football is more direct, more spectacular but more "simple", for example in Italy was impossible for Momo Salah to score more than 30 goals because in Serie A the defences works differently, the defenses of the smaller teams play to cancel the opponents. I'm not saying it's better, maybe the opposite, it's just a matter of culture. This is what foreign teams seeking Italian coaches are looking for. Trust me, if there is one thing we can do is defend :)
January 29, 20197 yr Author Already scored twice in the first 45 minutes of his first game for AC Milan.

January 29, 20197 yr Author I think we've made a mistake not signing him. He's really really impressive.
January 29, 20197 yr It's not that it would be that difficult to buy him off AC Milan at a later date, we'll see how he gets on.

First time I have watched those video clips and I have one burning question, why are there so few spectators in the stands? Serie A can't be that bad!

January 29, 20197 yr We passed on buying him to get a temp fix in Higuain. Oh dear, Milan are laughing.

January 30, 20197 yr Yeah, he's a really good finisher. My main concern with him relates to his technique. Unlike Higuain he doesn't seem to be a very good passer and his ball control seems rudimentary so I'm not sure that he would fit Sarri-ball anyway.
January 30, 20197 yr I'm fairly sure we could have gotten Piatek, given his availability and our financial resources. It's Sarri who wanted Higuain, because he fits his idea of a striker.

He is a traditional centre forward that thrives on the quick ball & crosses. As the game went on without decent service coming in, he dropped deeper and when the ball came in he wasn’t where you wanted him to be. Hazard and Willian tend to overplay and not don’t release the ball quickly, will be interesting to see how he gets on today.
January 30, 20197 yr We could have got Piatek instead of Higuain, but that would be just another signing Sarri doesn't want. The board showed they are behind Sarri in the striker transfer, now it's up to him and Higuian to deliver. For me, if you are a good finisher, you should do well whatever the system is, of course a manager that's willing to adapt system plays a big part too.
February 3, 20197 yr Can’t stop scoring; seems Milan have bought the 2 next biggest stars in Paqueta & Piatek.
February 4, 20197 yr I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we get a year and a half of ok-ness from Higuain and then end up bidding 90 million pound for Piatek and losing out to Madrid or City.
February 4, 20197 yr The last thing we needed was another unproven/high potential striker. We needed a sure thing and we have that with Higuain. Once he's been here for a year or two then we can look at getting the likes of Piatek for rotation.
February 4, 20197 yr Not getting carried away by Higuain just yet, let’s see where we are at the end of Feb. Whatever happens from now on till the end of the season, the club needs a long term plan or 2. Personally for me would have cleared the books, and signed both Jovic & Piatek as long term solutions.

February 17, 20197 yr Everyone knows he is a talented striker but Sarri wanted someone who he knows how to work with, this signing in Sarri's eyes would have been a bigger gamble.
February 17, 20197 yr Piatek turned down real Madrid to sign for Milan. I doubt we could've gotten him here.

Christ, we paid more for Bakayoko.

Our short term approach is ridiculous. We loaned Higuain to give us a fighting chance for top 4, as things stand and if things continue this way can’t see it happening. Seems like another money down the drain. Frankfurt have a £6m option to sign Jovic permanently, which appears they will do in the summer and demand £60m for him. I reckon they would have snapped our fingers for £30m in Jan. Makes you wonder why we couldn’t clear the deck in Jan and sign both Piatek & Jovic for £60m, and sorted our issues permanently. Tell you what Sarri wanted Higuain.
