That and a lot of the fans outside of the US and Canada will throw things on the field at players. The last time we played Mexico (In the US but a lot of Mexican fans showed up) Gio Reyna (midfielder for Dortmund) received a minor head injury while celebrating a Pulisic goal after Mexican fans threw things at the US Players.

October 29, 20214 yr So just read that Tuchel believes Pulisic is on track to be on the squad against Burnley. That's a little bit later than I was hoping but better late than never.

November 4, 20214 yr Annoyingly called up for international duty for the upcoming international break despite still returning to fitness.

Dude is already fit. Gave 20 minutes Tuesday, will probably go 30 or more against Burnley. Even is he only gives the US a half against Mexico, that is huge in our most important qualifier. Love how you guys question match fitness of a guy returned to play in the Premiere League, as if he is hobbled. Guy is either ready to go or not. If he is ready for Chelsea, he is ready for the USMNT. Sorry it is annoying you that we are trying to qualify for the most important tournament in the world, one we missed out on in the last cycle, and we need our captain and best player to do it. SMH

November 4, 20214 yr He could do with some extra minutes actually, hopefully he'll come off the bench and ease into it but knowing int. managers they tend to use and abuse.
November 4, 20214 yr Don’t mind him going to USA squad as long as he is played in gently. He’s only back for us and was eased into 20 mins against a lowly team. Hopefully gets a few more minutes against Burnley then a half or so for USA.

SMH You've basically highlighted the problem with him being called up. We, Chelsea, as his parent club, and the ones who have a hectic autumn/winter fixture list coming up and the ones who pay his wages, want to manage his fitness to ensure he is fit and healthy and not rushed back to risk injury. The US national team have a short term goal. They can afford to risk Pulisic's fitness because there isn't another international break after this one for about 3 months.

Explain the difference between playing 20 minutes for Chelsea and playing 20 minutes for the US. Can't wait to hear your rationale.

Dude missed almost two months. And if Chelsea didn't think he were "match fit," no way they would have played him against Malmo and this Saturday. They would have sat him, come up with some excuse, and handcuffed the US from bringing him into camp. But he is obviously good to go. If it was up to you Chelsea fans no foreign born Chelsea players would ever be realeased for national team duties. You would wrap them in Saran Wrap during international breaks and keep them locked up at Stamford Bridge. Real world doesn't work like that. Edited November 4, 20214 yr by USATim

And you are are worried about him seeing a half hour in Concacaf? Interesting.

You are dead wrong there fella, above all else we dont want our players wasted on the English national side. Let them be made up of their favorite scouse players.

And football. Playing 20 mins at the end of a game Chelsea has utterly dominated requires vastly different fitness levels to a big match against close international rivals. A competitive match has far greater (and different) fitness demands to any training matches and therefore players returning to full fitness are usually eased through while they work their way up to full fitness.

Explain those differences. Does he run slower? Try less? You are full of it. The premiere league is the best in the world - nobody is going half speed on a run, or half-ass on a challenge. Period. Again, if he is ready to compete at the highest level of competition in the world, I think he is good to go 30 minutes against the Reggae Boyz.
November 5, 20214 yr 2 hours ago, SydneyChelsea said: Chelsea pay Pulisic's wages, not the USMNT That's wonderful. But if you don't think exposure in the United States and remaining relevant to the public here is important, especially when you are the "captain" of the US national team, then you are a special type of ignorant.

What a specimen you are 😂 That's exactly what athletes do while working up to full fitness - run slower, run less, avoid immediate full sprints, etc. And you know that Malmo doesn't play in the EPL right? 🙂
