Christian Pulisic - Official

While I don't disagree he's excellent on form the problem is how often do we see it? He low-key had an absolute stinker of a season last season, the credit he built from the restart form protected him from a lot of criticism in my opinion.

He had some good moments but it wasn't the match after match game changing play that we saw after the re-start.

Take away a Christian Pulisic goal in the first leg and an assist in the second leg and we lose to Real Madrid in the Semi-finals of Champion's league.

Thing is that Ronaldo is 6'2" tall or 187 CM and has a much bigger frame.  Pulisic is 5'10" or 177 CM

By weight Ronaldo has 26 pounds (11.79 kg) on Pulisic.  (161 (73 kg) to 187 (84.82 kg) according to google)

I'm not sure if Pulisic is capable of being as big as Ronaldo weight wise and still being competitive.

Very true but Christian has a closer frame Messi . Looking at a picture of both players shows that Messi's legs are a lot more muscular than Pulisc's. Messi had to bulk his legs up because he was always getting kicked and had little niggles when younger due to his direct dribbling style.

If Pulisic wants to stick with his dribbling style of play then he will need to make his lower body stronger.

Goal will help his confidence and recovery.  No denying he has a knack for timing runs into the 6 yard box with end product.

We want to see this for a sustained period for Chelsea.  Big 6-8 months ahead for CP.

Pulisic wrecked Mexico. And that, lads, is why you call him up.

Can he now be wrapped up in cotton wool and shipped back to the UK? Maybe bubble too just to be sure!

Nah if he play consistently for 6 months, he will get injured again

A better example is hazard or Willian. Both were very2 strong

Still convinced he will be one of the best players in Europe in a few years, if he gets over his injury problems. When he is at it, he is unstoppable. I hope we are patient with him.

Yep. Mexico did some real dirty stuff in the second half - yet we get red carded. Figure that.

Too many dirty teams in CONCACAF.  They far too often get away with it.

A little off topic but just want to vent.  US has some of the best fans but also quite frankly some of the worst.

Here we all guess at the lineup Tuchel will select and when Tuchel selects a different lineup no one gets mad, they mostly just assume Tuchel knows more about managing a soccer team then they do and let it go win, lose or draw.

Greg Berhalter selects a lineup and half the fans are mad that he didn't go with their preferred lineup and they will call him an idiot for it and even when the US wins it isn't good enough because we are supposedly winning in spite of him.  In fact they used Tuchel's comments about hoping Berhalter doesn't play Pulisic for 90 minutes as evidence that Tuchel thinks he is an idiot.

I am not saying Berhalter is what Tuchel is but in the last year the US beat Mexico for the Nation's league, beat them for the Gold Cup with their B team, and now beat them in qualifying and are sitting in first place there.  I didn't like him at first but he is getting results.  Yet I know come Tuesday, GB will be called an idiot for whatever lineup he chooses.

CONCACAF is a mixture of football and MMA. A Mexican player tried to rip the eyeballs out of a US player yesterday. They are finally getting VAR in January despite the protests of many teams in that group. Those teams know that their style of intimidation and dirty tricks is coming to an end.

Pulisic’s goal and movement was so quick when it happened in real-time. True predator. His t-shirt message was like a dagger to the heart of that Mexican team.

No VAR till January, ridiculous.

Time to let Pulisic go, either on loan or a deal. Neither TT nor the fans rate him as a first XI guy, and all the other wingers are producing: CHO, Mount, Ziyech, with both Havertz and Werner able to play that position as well. Dealing or loaning  Pulisic is a win-win. Apparently Barca is interested in a loan, and other clubs are sniffing around as well. He’s made a glass, right? He can’t stay healthy, right? This seems like a no brainer.

Huh?  All frustrated by the injuries, but when he puts a run together he frequently produces for us.  Competition is there for sure, but no way I'd let him leave yet.

Aside from generally being a very good footballer, Pulisic has a real eye for goal and takes up goal scoring positions like few others in the squad. A real asset if he just gets his injuries under control.

Our match threads are usually not dissimilar to what you described 🙂 maybe go through some of the older ones (when things haven't gone entirely our way) to get a taste.

Barca is linked with everyone on loan, the day before was Werner, pretty sure one day it will be Messi and Pogba. They are f* broke, and fu* them. As for Pulisic, just need to manage his fitness, and preferably not sending him on some Internationals where he get the life kicked out of him. Great goal yesterday, just showed what he's capable of , and what we missed lately.

To be fair that's not entirely dissimilar to some of the criticism Southgate was getting during the summer.

It was particularly funny because it was en route to England's best performance in a major tournament for over 50 years!

All football fans know more than the manager and professionals within the game. Its what makes it such a great game, we all see the same match but draw differing conclusions. Some will think they know more than others as they are prepared to wade through many pages of pointless statistics. The main thing though is the fans get behind the team, even in rough times( something we as Chelsea fans are now fortunate to have not really experienced in many a year).

At the end of the day though there is a reason that we are just fans of the game whilst the likes of Tuchel, Klopp, Guardiola, Southgate, Allardyce and even Steve Bruce are managers. They have spent many years within the game and have forgotten more about it than the average fan knows.

It makes more sense when the team is losing regularly to question the manager.

But when the team is winning regularly, people still think the manager is an idiot.

Judge a manager on their results, not if they use your preferred lineup.
