Just an update but they must be confident in Pulisic's recovery because Gregg Berhalter named him to the world cup qualifying squad for the coming international break.

Puli was our "star" man in Lamp first season. I thought he was just ok last season under Lamp and the moment Tuchel took over he was gone. 

Our rotation right now is something like 

Mount/Ziyech for am role

Havertz/puli/Lukaku/Werner for forward 

Lukaku will probably seal one spot. Hence Pulisic basically need to compete with Havertz and Werner for the last spot.

See I don't see what he did badly against Palace.  Had at least 2 shots on goal, one which became a goal.  He also drew two fouls just outside the box.

Not to say he was the star man but he wasn't bad either.

I did watch the game and I just didn't see horrid.  Two shots on goal, 1 goal, 2 fouls drew in the final 3rd.  Sound's like pretty solid work for an attacking player.    

His pass accuracy was logged at 91.7% so it wasn't like he was passing the ball to the other team a lot.

The website linked to rated him the 3rd best player in the game.  I don't know how they figure their ratings but I'm clearly not the only person who thinks he had a solid performance.

 

So I'm trying to figure out what exactly he was doing wrong that makes you say he had a terrible game.

Very much thinking a fixed point of attack in Lukaku will be life changing for Pulisic and Werner, working off him and winning a lot of second balls will be huge for both 

huge Pulisic fan, think he’s an absolute class act 

Pictures today of Puli back in training with the USMNT. That’s a good sign for him as he recovers from Covid. Hopefully he’ll get some good minutes, avoid injury, and come back to the team ready to put in some good shifts.

He is going to be out for the first game.  From what I understand they don't feel he's back to full fitness after having been isolated with COVID.  

That said as of right now he's expected to play in the other 2 games.

Soon - he’s been training on his own for a few days now.

Let's see how much longer Tuchel will keep Pulisic inactive with his ankle "injury." Should be interesting, especially after today's pathetic offensive display.
