We are the fourth best team in the league and our league position accurately reflects that I think, I'm not complaining. We deserve to be where we are. But if we all suddenly think that Higuain is going to suddenly solve all of our problems (Jorginho, Kante- out of position, Alonso) then I think we are being very naive. However he will surely be an upgrade on Morata, whose attitude has been appalling since joining. Edited January 24, 20197 yr by Blueblur
January 24, 20197 yr yep, because the first thing any player wants to do is phone the Mail and brag about his salary.
January 24, 20197 yr Some financial details of the deal via Juventus, released due to their being on the being on the public stock exchange.

January 24, 20197 yr I was expecting to see the newer version of JFH, but this guy doesn't look fat to me.

As Kante is being played in the best position he possibly can. Although kante isn't really a defensive midfielder. His real role doesn't really exist.

With Morata, he was a very poor early target, and soft. Giroud is a good target, but not much of a threat on goal. Higuain will hopefully keep defenses honest; mark Jorginho with a 9 that stays high and the defense gets stretched a lot, also will create some space for Hazard to operate in. Kante and Alonso, don't have to run up field quite as much. With our lineup against Arsenal Alonso was the guy to flight balls to from the left back. I remember when Costa was coming back from injury and would come on as a sub... how much the game would change. Arsenal won because they had determination up top going to goal, every where else they were worse. Pedro knicked Lacazette in the box... our guys are falling down pleading for a penalty there, he fought through and scored. Higuain has been the type to fight through and shoot. We've been too soft going to goal, and Higuain can change the whole personality... will he is the question.

Whoever we target, we should not commit ourselves to one player or another ,and try to keep as many options open as possible. We should be looking at players who are scoring at an early age, on a regular basis, at all levels. we have youngsters on the books who fit the bill and should be included, along with other players identified by those that are paid a salary by the club for such a job.

To finish below Utd while having an 11 points advantage would not be good at all.

Young players that want to prove themselves and that have the hunger.

January 24, 20197 yr New to the forum here, but wanted to weigh in on Higuain. Cautiously optimistic for what he can bring to the team. His quality and aggressiveness will at least be a welcome change from Morata’s lack of confidence with the ball. In any case, I think we should all welcome him with open arms, so I came up with a chant for his debut: Higuain, Higuain, Gonzalo Higuain!Welcome to Chelsea, Higuain! Higuain, Higuain, goal scorer Higuain!Welcome to Chelsea, Higuain!
