Great to see Moscow admitting Abramovic did try to help with initial peace meetings, Ukraine Govt reached out for a mediator, and Roman was only one who stepped fwd.

Really hope this show the uk government as opportunistic bandwagonning bunch of c**ts…

I'm struggling with the financial/investment/profit making side of this sale... The initial outlay of this project is going to cost near £5 Billion.. How long will it take investors to get anything back on it, will Chelsea/Stamford Bridge ever be worth that much again?....

I get that it's situated in a sought after/lucrative/desirable location for everyone concerned but so is Brentford/Fulham.. Wealthy owners could buy those clubs for a fraction of the price, invest heavily and make a financial killing in a relatively short space of time...

It could simply be that they have more money than sense and just want to be associated with the one of the most successful Football Clubs in World football which will mean continued investment in the first team/Academy... I'll settle for this.. And of course the Womens team/Racism/Community and others...

They're buying into an established globally recognised football institution. We are the current European and World Champions and the most successful club in London.

It's ultra rare for a club to achieve all that, and even more rare to be available for sale.

From a US commercial point of view, they will host the 2026 World Cup which will provide further opportunities as interest in the sport grows (MLS is already expanding). Don't forget we have their superstar Pulisic in our ranks as well.

With regards to investing in another club, as we've seen with PSG, throwing billions at a football club does not guarantee success. With Chelsea, it's already at that point.

One final point. Some of the bidders are fans. If I had the means, I would bid as well!

Not particularly relevant but not sure where else to post this kind of content, Soz modz!

With all due respect, this content is everywhere, on every media platform and all over the web. We all on here are basically f**ked off with whats going on in the Ukraine and wish it would end asap. Respect to those fighting against the invasion and sincere condolences to those who have suffered. But this is a football forum specifically for Chelsea fans and for me a place to escape from all the sh*t that is going on and to have a bitch, take the piss and to have a laugh (sometimes)

The Ricketts have approached Nick Candy to join their bid:

https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2022/3/25/22996794/conflicting-reports-on-fifth-shortlisted-chelsea-bidder-candy-kim-smg-to-join-other-consortiums

Same article mentions the leader of Saudi media being open to join one of the shortlisted groups, and apparently there may be a 5th shortlisted group, Centrius possibly.

Chelsea fan Nick Candy has not given up hope of playing a part in Chelsea's future. Candy's spokesperson said on Friday: "We continue to evaluate and participate in meaningful conversations in the bidding process. Nick has always made it clear that the fans and safeguarding the future of the club are his only interests in this process."

from sky sports.

I liked Candy but now he's looking too desperate. He should just accept that he didn't make the shortlist.

In other news, I found out were linked to this guy. Not sure how good he is but its interesting that we are starting to be linked with American players.

Of the four bids Raine have advanced, one is a group #cfc fans are protesting against, one currently wouldn't pass the PL test and one wouldn't currently be viable because of Uefa/CL regs. Otherwise, I think they'be done a really excellent job. #cfc

That is from Matt Law. I’m surprised Raine have advanced 2 bids that have issues?

This must be a joke, historically i'd agree Arsenal were a bigger club, but they've won 6 league titles since the 70/71 season, that's 50 years ago.... they are no longer bigger than us... it's a fact...  no League title since 2004... a gap of 18 years now.... come on let's be realistic, it's like saying Aston Villa are bigger than us because they won five league titles in the 1800's, football moves on. You cannot consider Arsenal to be in the same bracket as us now...yes they may have the Fan base and win the odd cup but look at their league title winning seasons below.

Winners (13): 1930–31, 1932–33, 1933–34, 1934–35, 1937–38, 1947–48, 1952–53, 1970–71, 1988–89, 1990–91, 1997–98, 2001–02, 2003–04

Yes they have won the FA Cup 14 times, but so what, i'd swap 14 FA cups for 1 European Cup let alone 2!!!!!

WERE bigger? maybe.

Simple fact is, if you've not won the Champions League as a minimum, you don't get a seat at the "elite" table.

So we can pretty much narrow it down to one then. Ricketts it is. 🤣

What you said isn’t “another way”, or basically saying and agreeing our challenging days are over.

Which is fine but if we continue to flop after flop (because lol it can definitely happen under American owners) I don’t want our owners to continue happily sucking our club dry when we get profits. The Glazers are doing it and BWG lean Glazer.

The Glazers have spent alot of money.

Sir Martin Broughton's bid for #Chelsea is seen as a particularly strong contender, with sources close to the proposal insisting it is made up of global backers.

Shortlisted bidders for Chelsea will find out the next part of the process. Candidates will also get an opportunity to speak to key figures at Chelsea, including Marina Granovskaia, chief executive Guy Lawrence and even Thomas Tuchel if desired.

f**k Matt law. I lost respect for him after he claimed Rudiger had a hand in lamps getting fired. It is obvious that Matt law is working with BWG. No wonder be turned off the comments on his Twitter because true blue fans caught wind of that sh*t

Yes from the beginning it is clear he is in their camp. What he said about the fans protest against the Ricketts and issues of ownership for GP bid, due to ownership of Atalanta, is true. Not sure how Sir Martins bid would not pass the PL test though.

I want to believe in Sir Martins bid. I guess is simply a matter of Roman is a tough act to follow. Just have to hope our people make sure the right new custodians come in.

Looks like the remaining bidders are going to have to contractually agree to spending 1bn on infrastructure. To think some doubted we’d stay competitive.

I think being world and European champions, and still being pretty competitive despite loss of form, both in Europe and domestically, has really helped us to attract so much interest. I wonder how much attraction we would have gotten without winning the CL. Because domestically we've been very underwhelming.

Not sure that will be enough for the stadium rebuild. Most estimates put that at between 1.5bill-2bill
