The question is, why did Roman and Co have to pay under the table for these players? It's not like we had no value at the time, we were still a very desirable club. I do think Roman could have done much better in the transfer market between 2010 up until 2016/17 period. We could have kept Ancelotti, signed the likes of Aguero, David Silva, etc, and we could have built a fantastic team to last us a good decade or more. Instead Man City were taken over and they snagged those two players despite us being interested in them at the time. Buying Torres was a bad decision from Roman.By the sound of things, many clubs were doing similar things but we had attracted scrutiny which was probably connected to our success under Roman. I suspect he had seen some of this attention coming in the last few years as we notably eased off on the transfer front and focused on rebuilding the academy. I'd argue that the strong academy set up was one the best things that Roman left us with.

March 17Mar 17 I think they only declared it so they could point fingers at the old regime and say they wasn’t running the club properly. If anybody is deluded enough to think football worldwide isn’t full of backhanders and brown envelopes then they are rather naive.

According to the finding, without the transparency and cooperation, the fine would have been much larger and included an actual two-window club transfer ban.

He was very well paid and never actually ever picked up a paint brush !Don’t loose sight that none of the payments were not made from Chelsea FC accounts and whilst it may seem obvious to many that these were payments should have been made by Chelsea or maybe not(non registered intermediaries ) made at all from everything I read from official sources there wasn’t conclusive evidence to prove what many seem to be alleging and when you read that the club admitted the charges that’s not actually the case here . Chelsea have simply not provided any evidence of wrong doing they have provided certain information and accepted that indiscretions may have happened but the onus was on the PL to prove and that despite everything that’s been put out there that simply isn’t what has happened here.

No one could work out how they managed to field such talent within the salary cap. The billionaire owner was, um, assisting players with funding for investments - buying rental properties, etc - and found to be in breach of the salary cap. Massive points deduction, relegated.

March 17Mar 17 FindingsNo Competitive Advantage: The Premier League concluded that Chelsea did not breach profitability and sustainability rules, even if the undisclosed payments had been properly accounted for. This means that the payments did not provide Chelsea with a financial advantage that would have affected their performance on the field.Success During the Period: Chelsea won multiple titles during the investigation period, including two Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy. However, the league stated that there is no suggestion that these successes were tainted by the financial irregularities.
March 17Mar 17 The strategy failed. It's like watching toodlers try to learn things without their parents.

March 17Mar 17 Doesn't this club have a single influential fan voice to tell these owners they are killing this club? Can't JT get a message to them at least?

I don't know why no one gets fired. All the sh*t flows downhill to the head coach as it stands. Sooner or later these geniuses running the club will have to take aim at their own strategy and then hire a better SD to replace the two pretenders we have at the moment ... I'm hoping for some sort of legislation/intervention to prevent American PL ownership getting to 14. That will send all their TV/media aspirations up in smoke and then the realisation will dawn on them that they are not going to make their money back, let alone double it.
March 17Mar 17 I've been the most outspoken on here against blueco from the off, but even i did not think it would be this bad.By that the face we are I feared, losing the love for Chelsea I did not expect. I soul stealing.
March 17Mar 17 Nothing left to be said. Truly embarrassing. Fourth year here and we start a UCL playoff match against PSG with two 20 year olds and Chalobah in defence. Chalobah who was sent to Palace for not being good enough in the first place. What is left to happen is for Disasi to come back and start in defence next season. That would truly complete the whole circus cycle. Every football fan can see that it is impossible for a club to compete at a decent level with a young defence that are not backed by a competent goalkeeper either. Bar the Chelsea board. What is for sure is that James and Cucurella will start the next season as full backs, which is a good thing. But if Colwill is going to be paired with Chalobah or one of the other young defenders and Sanchez or Jorgensen are the GKs, then there is no hope for this club anymore.
March 17Mar 17 I’ve contacted CAS about to appeal against the PL punishment. It needs to be much harsher & ownership needs to be taken away asap.
March 17Mar 17 Don't laugh, but one of my sources just told me that the reason that Clearlake are so sh*t is because Eghbali can't get an erection. I'd hate to think that Eghbali can't get an erection. I can't believe Eghbali suffers from erectal dysfunction. What a misfortune for Eghbali to suffer from erectile dysfunction. March 17Mar 17 Clownlake is the only way to describe them. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because they were trying something different and felt we were going in the right way last summer. This year has been such a disaster that I I don’t see any major improvement in the coming years. We are as far, if not further away from competing than we were 3 years ago.
