Malmo V Chelsea (EL) Thurs 14th Feb 20:00 UK

Team is understandably in a really nervous state. Sarri is under immense pressure, and under the circumstances we should be pleased with the result. And yes I will moan about the moaners to my heart’s content. You are CONTRIBUTING to the problem.

What kinda stupid question is that? What have Willian and Pedro done this season that warrants them starting every single game over CHO. Whether or not CHO is better than them (which he is) it's more helpful to the club for him to start. He can only get better, the other two won't and can't get better.

He played 6 minutes against a sh*te team, while Vinicius and Sancho are starting in the champions league. It's inexcusable.

Mate stop. People keep talking about Hudson-Odoi like he's a game changer who is Neymar level or something. Not playing Hudson-Odoi isn't the issue.

And did f**k all against a sh*t team.  Get a f**king grip on reality

That was the most unconvincing win I've seen in a bit. Hopefully we can build on this and get the win against United and start a nice unbeaten run for a while and get Sarri his first trophy!

I never said he was the next big thing. But if you can't play him against a team such as Malmo, when is he ever going to play?

He must've touched the ball like 4 times.

"Some positive thinking might do you well."

I'm positive overall don't worry, not being good enough to win Europa League is not not being that much negative anyway.

It was never going to be a total walk in the park tonight. Yes Malmo have just finished their winter break but they are also well rested. Add to that a supportive home crowd who were well up for it, and our poor recent form, and tonight's game had all the ingredients to be a shock. As it turned out we managed to come away with a narrow win and 2 away goals. Hopefully we can finish the job at home. There are still plenty of unanswered questions and we are far from convincing but you have to start somewhere. I'm sure this will help the confidence of the players a bit and it will certainly be interesting to see how we do on Monday.

I wish I had that same confidence, but if this group has taught me one thing, it is that they never recover when things go wrong. We have the odd positive reaction now and again, but it usually lasts one game and we are back to the same poor level of performance all over again.

Funny how you seem to take offence to someone else "moaning" about our performances lately yet you turn around and bury a 18 year old for not doing much in 6 small minutes. Double standards much?

Did he get banned?

You won away from home in a european knockout competition - what more do you want you spoilt f**k? ?

I hope you don't take offence, Yorkley, but I just imagined you as secondhand car salesman, who was pointed by a customer to missing brakes, smashed headlights and flat tyres, and at that growled back "what more do you want you spoilt f**k? "

Actually I saw him reading it on his phone as he left the pitch at half time

Oh trust me. I am not confident that we have turned any corners. Just trying to stay optimistic. I've been reading Eric Idle's autobiography recently. Good to remind yourself to "Always look on the bright side..."

Just abit over the top, Pedro and Willian have had poor seasons and some members think CHO deserves some game time in a competition which lacks quality. Doesn't mean anyone thinks his the next Neymar.

Now I know why he makes so many notes, I better watch my back as I'm sure my names on that list :laugh2:

Obviously i want to win and winning trophies will generally help forget any lucky or uninspiring performances along the way. But in truth, for me, i just want to be entertained and I don't think that's entitlement. Forgetting the hammerings or the scrappy wins, its the impotent football and naive defensive tactics that i am struggling with.

We're caning Sarri, possibly with some justification, although i have posted my thoughts before about professional footballers who have been in the system since they were 8 and now in their mid 20's can't adapt to working in a different 15 yard space than they are used to, but this isn't the Sarriball that everyone was talking about and posting passages of Napoli's play.

That was fast incisive passing, rapid movement off the ball and a close unity within the team from the centre half to the centre forward. This is stale with players retaining possesion and running furiously 10 yards sideways to chop the ball once, twice, three times only to return the ball back to where it satrted. Ultimately pointless and bereft of creativity.

Thsi is not what Nouman was showing us with his tactical youtube clips. This is not Sarriball, and i for one am really disappointed because i was really looking forward to watching that style of football. Fck the results, i just wanted us to play exciting and entertaining football.

I watched Spuds last night and granted Dortmund were too young, inexperienced and ultimately not strong enough. But i enjoyed watching them, the movement, the purposeful passing, the interaction, the intention to create.

I'm not moaning about tonight, this will be forgotten should we go through to the next round. After all most of us have already forgotten how turgid we were to watch throughout the group stage. It's just such a shame, i was really looking forward to this guy ushering in a new style and a new era. I'm not sure if Sarri can do it here now, but what's more worrying from his frank recent interviews it sounds like he's not sure either.

Good result considering the city result and pressure to win against a decent side away from home in abroad. We made it hard for ourselves though.

No clinicalness or decisiveness from our attacking players. We should have scored at least 3/4 goals.

The goal came from a poor pass from Luiz which led to the counter. Silly mistakes again led to goal/s.

A much needed win to regain some confidence and form. Probably perfect team to do it against.

Thank you! And same goes for the other balanced assessments on here.

I think one can make the case that it’s just not clicking yet. We see some glimpses of what it’s meant to he, including tonight, but it’s not there yet, and there’s a fine line between it looking great and woeful. I think I understand what Sarri’s trying to do, and see where he’s coming from when he says we haven’t seen his football yet. That’s one of the reasons I find the negativity exasperating.

You’d better watch out. Remember Roman has his back, and you know who has Roman’s back.

Post match today he said we played "his" football.

Good result away from home and Malmo are so poor and out of shape that i'll take us advancing for granted at this point. And for now thats good enough in this competition.
