Well that's true...

I can see it already as a blessing for Sarri.

He is doing nothing special, better managers than him like Ancelotti and Conte were sacked for a lot less garbage performances of the team

Really ? While I accept it's far from great now I much rather this "moment" than the dying days of Carlo and Conte, they were brutal.

Atleast at the minute we are trying to a build towards something however successful or not it turns out, in the second season of those two we were coasting playing stagnant football with no direction or remote hope whatsoever.

What are we aiming towards Argo? ‘Sarriball’ what we’re witnessing isn’t even close. We play extremely boring football, no worse than under a Conte/Mourinho - the only difference is we have the ball and get sucker punched with one counter attack.

If we were seeing some sort of progress then I think people would be more understanding but we’re not. We’ve actually gone backwards since the start of the season.

If Sarri can’t get these players playing and the transfer ban is upheld, we’re as well just writing next season off as he’ll have the same group of players and is not going to play the youth. Even once the ban is over, is this board likely to spend circa £300m to overhaul the squad? I doubt it - and if they do, we’ll no doubt end up with more Drinkwaters then Rudigers IMO.

It might just be that in a much higher paced/physical league that Sarriball doesn’t come to fruition. The main orchestrator of it is meant to be Jorginho but as soon as teams press/man mark him, he’s in trouble.

I Hope Sarri can figure it out and adapt to get us playing like his Napoli and I’d love to say I got it wrong if or when it happens, but personally I’ve not seen anything so far which indicates we’re going to get there.

Also Conte wasn't really sacked over the performance of the team. It all came down to his fall out with the board. I think most on here agree that Carlo should never have been sacked too. One of the harshest decisions the board has made. I would like to think Roman is now a little more patient. Especially as you point out with FFP now a big factor in the budget.

Judging Conte is a little complicated as he was successful in his first season yet then didn't get the investment he wanted (Board failure or intentional destruction?) and fell out with key players too.

He still lifted the FA Cup in the 2nd season yet this was on the back of some ordinary  league performances.

And let's be honest, fairly ordinary fa cup performances. We didn't have to try until the final and that's something we have been able to do over the years regardless of manager.

Leicester and Southampton not exactly top 6 yet neither were they lower league sides.

We beat Leicester in extra time and Southampton arent even top 10.

In any year you'd expect us to beat both.

We are trying to build towards a high pressing possession based system where we strangle the life out of opponents. Whether we get there successfully is another matter but there's a clear picture of what's trying to be achieved despite the poor results and often poor football.

The second seasons of Conte and Carlo were brutal, both phoned it in a lot, there was no direction to the squad or the tactics and the football being played on both occasions would have even made Tony Pulis's eyes bleed.

I think there has been a fair bit of progress in how we are progressing the style although admitedly not as much as I would have liked especially in the last phase. For example we couldn't play out against teams pressing us intensely for toffee last season, now we have played out well against even City and Liverpool. We keep possession well which i know football isn't just about possession but it's the key basic that can build the other things. In recent weeks there has also been a big improvement with our speed of play in the final 3rd admitedly against poor opponents for the most part.

Am I 100% convinced Sarriball will ultimately work its end game? No, but at no point this season have I felt as hapless as I did at the lowest points in those campaigns, and yes I include the Bournemouth and City carcrashes in that. I honestly felt lower after The Ethiad last season than I did this.

He's entirely out of his depth.

Should have been sacked a while ago, hopefully we take action now.

Having in mind Sarri's record in Europe with Napoli, it's safe to say we have no chance of winning the Europa league. My guess is, sack him now and turn things around, worst case scenario is not so bad, Sarri isn't a saviour.

How about now?

Who do you bring in though if Sarri is sacked?

Anyone that won't blindly and fully implement a tactic from another team from another league and keep it no matter what.
Second request is to play CHO and RLC more often.

As someone who finds themselves in the middle that is one of the questions that keeps me from shifting to Sarri out. We might be able to bring in Holland to give us a honeymoon period until the end of the season (and even that isn't guaranteed), but where does the club go from there? Unless there is some sort of post-Sarri plan and direction from the club I really see no reason to fire him since we will probably be in the same position next season under another manager (or maybe even worse since we have a transfer ban and Hazard could be leaving).

I think for now we just have to think of this season. Getting CL football is vital imo.

Today is clear for me. We dominate the first half ok we weren’t good enough in front of goal but what was Sarri’s team talk at half time? I mean no way were Everton going to play that badly in the second half. He’s out of his depth here he has to go now. I’m f****d off with the same tactics the same team the same slow play. Roman sort this now like you have done the other times!!!

The transfer ban will only be a blessing I disguise if Sarri is not the manager.  If he was forced to use the same players and some of the loanees, I think we would be even worse off.

Square pegs in round holes with our youth and loanees.  Out of those players, I think these are the only ones who could fit well with Sarri: Mount, James, Abraham, Pulisic, Ampadu

Maybe I’m missing one but there’s not much, and I doubt he would play any of them other than Pulisic.

If you look at our squad, we need at least 7 additions/improvements: RB, LB, 2 CB, CM, winger, and striker.  Whether it’s new signings or promoting youth, that’s the bare minimum needed.  You could argue we need 2 CMs, 2 strikers, and 2 more wingers, if you foreshadow some departures.

The reason I put 2 CBs is because I’m starting to get a little concerned that Rüdiger is not up to par.  I’ve been a big proponent of his, but he has really struggled lately.
