"mental block I think"

He is getting paid millions to understand and fix the problems, not to fecking "THINK" what MAYBE is wrong. I can think a million ways too on what could be wrong but im not making millions on "idk, maybe mental block." That is just pure laziness and lack of understanding of your job. Dont fecking "think", fix it. If you cant, step on the plank and do one.  Dont steal for a fecking living off of our club.

The man is just a broken record who is out of his depth. Take him back to Serie B, even his Napoli "success" was artificial. Ancelotti is doing better with an inferior Napoli team to Sarri's.

1st game I've been to in about 3 years yesterday, and it was such a disappointing performance.

I dont have faith in sarri to play the exciting youth players if a ban comes in, and I dont have faith in the board to buy quality players should the ban get delayed.

Too many players that arent good enough, a manager that is too stubborn and scared to take risks playing young players, a defence that makes mistakes every game, and an attack thats absolutely toothless.

If Roman still had the drive and passion for the club he had 10 years ago, theres no way he wouldve let the standards drop off a cliff like they have done in the last 18 months.

And then add to that 2 was against Fulham and another was an own goal against Spurs.

But I'm sure the rest were all decent goals.........................................!

We are trying to build towards a high pressing possession based system where we strangle the life out of opponents. Whether we get there successfully is another matter but there's a clear picture of what's trying to be achieved despite the poor results and often poor football.

The second seasons of Conte and Carlo were brutal, both phoned it in a lot, there was no direction to the squad or the tactics and the football being played on both occasions would have even made Tony Pulis's eyes bleed.

I think there has been a fair bit of progress in how we are progressing the style although admitedly not as much as I would have liked especially in the last phase. For example we couldn't play out against teams pressing us intensely for toffee last season, now we have played out well against even City and Liverpool. We keep possession well which i know football isn't just about possession but it's the key basic that can build the other things. In recent weeks there has also been a big improvement with our speed of play in the final 3rd admitedly against poor opponents for the most part.

Am I 100% convinced Sarriball will ultimately work its end game? No, but at no point this season have I felt as hapless as I did at the lowest points in those campaigns, and yes I include the Bournemouth and City carcrashes in that. I honestly felt lower after The Ethiad last season than I did this.

Regrettably, I think "Sarri-ball" is doing more to strangle the life out of the Chelsea support.

In all my time, I have never know the Chelsea support to be so divided over a coach. After the defeats to Bournemouth, City & to a lesser extend Utd in the Cup, I was a firm Sarri out, but then I have back-tracked with improved performances and a bit of introduction of some fresh faces. But after the Wolves and now the Everton game I am swinging back to the opinion he is out of his depth and out of ideas. We (HE) is just not learning from previous games. The pattern is being repeated again and again and it's all getting so frustratingly predictable and boring. His one chance of hanging onto his job rests with the Europa Cup and possible qualification for CL. If that doesn't happen, I suspect Sarri will be history.

Dissapointing loss for sure.

If Sarri is out, who do we replace him with? What happens to Jorginho and Higuain?

I think the board have invested alot in Sarri that has backfired on all of us.

Personally i wish we backed Conte and invested that money on Koulibaly and Sandro, they were both quoted 50 mill each which could have being a bargain by now.

If Sarri is unable to make his system work with the current crop of players then nothing will change next season since he won't be getting any new signings. It is possible that the players just need more time to figure out his system, and a full pre-season, but we haven't seen much evidence of progress in recent months. If we find a way to either finish top 4 or win the Europa I think he will definitely get more time. If not I reckon he will be shown the door at the end of the season, or possibly early next season if we get off to a bad start.

With the exception of Jorginho we are hardly heavily invested in players suited to Sarri's style. Higuain is on loan and may not be able to come back after this season, even if we want him. If anything we are currently limited by players who were more effective under Conte's system (e.g. Alonso, Azpi) and have struggled under Sarri.

100m on Koulibaly and Sandro? Are you having a laugh? You know it makes much more sense to spend 180m on Morata, Bakayoko, Drinkwater and Zappacosta! Completely transformed the team!

Surprised to see so many people who want him out this passionately.

I long accepted that we would be in for a rough ride to begin with but it would be worth it in the long run and I hope the board see it the same way otherwise what was the point of hiring Sarri in the first place.

The only critique I would have of Sarri is the handling of CHO but we don't know what has gone on behind the scenes there.

I get what you are saying, but there needs to be glimpses in the short-term for him to have the patience and backing for a long term project. But currently we are in decline and actually look like we are going backwards.

Our league form in 2019 has been mid-table level. 4 wins, 2 draws, and 4 defeats. If it wasn't for our decent start to the season we would probably have nothing to play for in the league by now. There has no real evidence of progress under Sarri. If anything our results have deteriorated as the season has gone on.

I was extremely skeptical of his appointment from day 1, so he's essentially done nothing to win me over and convince me he's the right man to lead us forward.

I'm not really sure what the club were expecting with the Sarri appointment. He's got no history of success, he's got no history of building teams. He had one job with Napoli where he got praise for playing some decent football without actually winning anything.

The appointment was a gamble and as with any gamble sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Trouble with gambling is that when you're on a losing streak you get tempted to double down and end up with debts you can't pay and the wife leaves you. (I'm sure I was going somewhere with that analogy...).

I'm still well in the "Sarri in" camp. I'm of the opinion that every manager deserves at least 1-2 seasons and a full pre-season before they're given the boot. That being said, there definitely seems to be something going wrong at the moment. It's like groundhog day, especially every away game. We dominate possession but look toothless in attack, then conceded 1-2 counter attacks over the course of the whole match which we concede from.

If we can get a top top quality centre-half and a couple of top attack-minded players to compliment some of our talented youth, I think we'll be transformed. I know that's easier said than done.

We look like a different team in Europe - hopefully we go on to win the Europa League. That's become so important now.

We are a different team in Europe, quite literally. I think most on here agree that our starting midfield 3 in most games doesn't offer enough offensive threat. In Europa games we have used a different midfield 3 with much better results. It could be weaker opposition but we won't know for sure until we see that lineup in a league game. I also think Giroud deserves to start over Higuain on current form.

Higuain is gone no matter whether Sarri stays or not.  I have to imagine that Jorginho’s future at Chelsea is tied to Sarri’s.  The regista role is the only conceivable place that Jorginho could have any relative success in this league, and he’s been marginally ok at best.  Italy awaits both of them at some point in the somewhat near future.

I have said for some time that it really would not surprise me in the least if Poch ended up being our next manager.
I will be very happy with that considering how he has improved lots of average players at Tottenham

Roman Abramovich met with Marina Granovskaia after the Everton game to discuss Sarri's future and we could well see a new manager at the Chelsea game after the international break. The most viable path currently for life after Sarri seems Steve Holland. #CFC (calciomercato)

The Chelsea board are concerned and disappointed about the team’s performances this season. Senior figures have held discussions about Maurizio Sarri’s future.

The only reason we're looking good in Europe so far is the quality of the opposition we've faced to date. If we were playing in the CL this season, we wouldn't have been able to go past the group stage.

If he’s still with us after the international break he’s probably gonna stay until the end of the season. Do well in EL because that’s our level now under Sarri - but still haven’t faced an equivalently equiped opponent, so that could be just ‘fake’ form. Let’s all wait & see then....

For me it would be harsh to sack him before he’s even had chance to win the EL. You could argue a top 4 place was within his grasp and it’s looking like he’s failed that target though.

All I can say is....what a mess.

If he does get shown the door then Steve Holland would be a logical interim. He knows most of the players very well, and he might even be prepared to give more chances to the youth. Then again it really depends on the expectations of the club for the remainder of the season and next season.

I hate the idea of sacking another coach but I could see Roman pulling the trigger during the break.

We're at a critical point where Top 4 and EL will be decided soonish. We've already given away our best opportunity to regain top 4 status. I can see him thinking he needs a safer pair of hands for the next little while.
