You can troll all you like, but klopps achievement in getting Liverpool to 90+ points this year is a great achievement. As was sarris at Napoli.
To state it was nothing if there is no title is just trolling.
If Sarri got us to 90+ points and we didn't win the title next year, would you want him sacked?
The EPL is a very competitive league, if Sarri can achieve that here, I won't want him sacked, but in the Italian league, it's nothing to me.

That's a you problem because it was a massive achievement.

Let's see what the gap is currently

Yes i can do maths as well. I posted those stats in reply to nibs who said we don't shoot that much, in my next post after i said the problem is we don't score enough goals from the chances we do create.

But stats like that are so misleading. How many of those shots are nowhere near scoring a goal? Off target, way over the bar, speculative long range efforts from Luiz, Rudiger, Azpi, Kovacic - none of whom ever look like scoring. I'm going by what I see with my own eyes, which unfortunately far too often, is us never looking like scoring or even troubling the keeper. Of course a lot of that is down to us not having an elite level striker like most the other top sides have.

I honestly understand people saying Sarri should be sacked for his performance this season. For me it's been 5/10 but i would rather keep him on as think that is the most likely solution for longer term success

But there's no reasoning for me in undermining his success at Napoli. He was a great manager for them. He turned them into the best of the rest, which considering there are two Milan's and a lazio is no mean feat.

And suggesting OGS has a better CV makes me think you are just a troll.

Big difference between getting 90points in the premier league and not winning the league than doing the same in Italy. As much as Liverpool would like it to happen, no one gets remembered for finishing second with 90points.

Liverpool could still finish second with 97 points. That would be crazy when you think that even in our dominant season under Jose in 2004-5 we finished with 95 points. I think it says a lot about the disparity in class between the top few teams and everybody else these days too, but nevertheless I suspect it will be a long time before a second place team gets that many points in the Premier League again.

Oh yeah I agree but no one remembers who finished second and no one wants finished 2nd with record points on their CV.

Alan Hanson." 1st is 1st seconds no where" apparently it was their little mantra.

Pep's comment that both of them deserve it hits the nail on the head. I prefer to watch Livetpool, but both teams have been phenomenal this season. Hope we get back up there.

You haven't had a "like" given for this post Emerald. If there was a "vomit" option I think you might have got quite a few clicks.

Can I ask, out of curiosity, are you from Ireland?

There isn't a huge difference. 90 points isn't common in Italy either!

You get remembered for all sorts. The Dutch team of the 70s and 80s won f all.

They won the European Championship in '88

I meant the total football 70s team with cruyff.

Either way my point was literally Sarri getting 90 points at Napoli is an achievement and his Napoli team will live longer in the memory of football fans than a team that wins the league cup or plays in Norway!

I would rather win the league cup than finish second on 90points. A Napoli team finishing on 90points will only live in the memory of Sarri's biggest fans like you, really it means sod all.

Out of interest would you switch Sarri for Alex McLeish this summer if the latter declared an interest in the Chelsea job and it was one or the other?

Madness.

A team winning the league cup doesn't even live long in the memories of a club's own fans! Let alone anyone else.

a lot of teams in the top flight have not won trophies for years, so i think their fans may beg to differ?

I would take winning the league cup over finishing second with 90 points any season, no one remembers a team finishing second or a team finishing on 90points, rather have a trophy on my CV.

Leicester will live long in the memory of football fans, Utds treble team, invincibles, City, Mourinhos Chelsea, not a team who finished second.

My best friend back in 2011 was a Birmingham fan and he said he would have traded in the league cup in an instant if it kept the club up. In his words "amazing feeling at the time but wasn't worth the sh*t that came after" (they lost points in the league while prioritizing the cup which led to a relegation that they still haven't recovered from).

Trophy's are good but there's lines, outside of banter to wind the Scousers up would anyone seriously suggest we have had a better season than Liverpool even if we win Europa and they win nowt?

Is that because Birmingham won the league cup in 2011?, what's that to do with the summer of 2019?

THE LEAGUE CUP

Who won the league cup 2 years ago? Genuinely no idea. I think it was maybe united? 3 years ago no idea.

I'm not comparing coming 2nd to winning the flipping treble

The statement that started this is that a manager who came 2nd in seria A with a points total that normally wins a league is worse than a manager who has won the league cup. So it's quite relevant.
