Why is this the boards fault for shortsightedness?

They should have seen we could get this ban. Signing underage players never ends well. It was all a money making scheme and never any intention to use the young players they signed.

I imagine we did have intention to use them, such as B.Traore was always looking like he'd get in our team. The club also stands by the premise that they never broke any rules, so they clearly didn't know we'd get a ban.

As far as the club was aware, the signings were cleared by the FA. So no, they did not foresee the ban!

I don't think it would make any difference what we prioritised. The fact is that our attack in it's current state is worse than the 5 teams ahead of us, so even if we played a second team in all of the cup games, our first 11 are still going to find it very hard to get top 4. Even with Hazard, we were the lowest scoring team in the top 6, just think how much worse we are going to be now that he is gone.

It won’t be that come May when Abraham has hit over 20 goals and CHO & Pulisic are on at least double figures each as well?

I’ve went with 4th but I’ll be happy with anywhere from 6th up.

Utter incompetence by the FA then.

Predict it will be tight with Manure and Arse having a sniff here and there but my money is on these being the 6.  We still have a good squad and with SFL bringing a togetherness and competitive spirit with the yout will make us a danger to all

I think we'll finish top 4.

It will be close though like last year and we could flop between 3rd and 4th, depending on which Spuds side shows up for the 38 games.

I dont think Arsenal have enough to nick top 4 and Utd, despite having a decent squad on paper seem to be a bit of a shambles.

Not sure if this means much but in the newest global football power rankings we are above Real Madrid:

1: City

2:Bayern

3:Liverpool

4:Barcelona

5:PSG

6:Chelsea

7:Real Madrid

Somebody should have told Hazard this...

Only real threat to a top 4 finish is Manu, they have a lot of talent but the problem has always been making them use it. If OGS finds a way to make it work (which I doubt) then we´ll probably end up fifth. Then again I will never bet money against Frank, people are underestimating his managerial experience. He was part of the coaching team in 2012 when we won the CL, along with Terry, Cech, I´d throw Ivanovic and Ashley Cole in there aswell.

My vote goes to 3rd place but we´ll have a better clue once the season kicks off. It could go either way, I believe in the players we have, but they are young and must start producing right away, we´ll see how that goes.

I’ve gone for mid table (10th - I see few grounds for optimism, and could well see the likes of wolves and Leicester finishing ahead of us). Obviously I hope Lamps and the team prove me very wrong and that I never hear the end of it on here.

Based on current transfer activity or lack of it, this is what I think might transpire.

1. Liverpool

2. City

3. Utd

4, Chelsea

5. Spurs

6. Arsenal

I'm positive about Lampard getting the best out of the squad without a big name coming in.

I think fifth or sixth and that is okay. This season is all about building for the future.

Much to admire in Ethan Ampadu securing a loan at a better rated club than Manchester United, Arsenal, Inter Milan & Napoli ... ?

the BT super computer reckons we'll finish 4th having topped the league at Christmas - I'm not so sure about that!

Not winning the league after being top at Christmas is more of a Liverpool thing :laugh2:
