Yes. Avatars are indeed a way of ascertaining whether a poster has contributed anything of value.

Simply looking at the ones on this page alone might have suggested that not everything has to be of a serious nature. Open your eyes, EB. I'm sure you're capable.

Correct, it is - it’s a clear indication that you’re either a WUM or you’re one of the idiots from Twitter who put 🚫 across their own players/managers faces. Fortunately, neither of which tend to last long on this forum. I’m all for difference of opinions. I had it with @Slojotonight but I’ve got no time for sh*t like that.

No need, just looked at your avatar and it tells me all I need to know.

Exactly. Lampard, the greatest Chelsea player ever. The very best we have ever seen at Stamford Bridge in our lifetime. Possibly the most loved Chelsea player of our generation.

To even comprehend using an image like that is unthinkable for Chelsea fans because we have so much respect for Frank, wether he’s a good manager or not.

He’s a troll, not a Chelsea fan.

Totally agree with you mate, other than JT is slightly ahead of Lamps for me but there’s a bawhair between them!

Well mine sums me up, a complete d**khead.

May I join?

I'm currently occupying the forum knob spot but I feel like I'm ready to make the jump up.

Much too early to consider sacking Frank only seen Mendy once with Ziyech still to come.

By November if we are not playing better then that is better time for us to talk about whether a change is needed up top not now.

I’m sorry but I’ve held this position for many years and if you want to take my belts you’ve got a to up your work rate massively.

Wenger in.

A big X across a legends face is outrageous.

I have many reservations about Frank but to disrespect him like that is ludicrous.

Frank is one of the main reasons we are what we are today, never forget that. You can critisise and want change without the disrespect sh*thousery shown here

I continue to sit and watch Frank with interest in this 3rd season of his as a manager.

Respect the Legend, hoping for better. I'm still not convinced.

Someone, I think @GM7 talked about defensive organisation and that for me is key. Always has and always will be.

He will do good things in Chelsea because he is a smart man and the way he wants to play the game is commendable but if his team set up doesn't improve he will stop at good and not move on to great.

Saying that, probably watched all of 10 mins at the most in bits and thought the defence wasn't too bad.

The key will be for the squad to gel and hit some form by the time the Champions League starts. That is typically where the financial rewards lie and I suspect he will feel a lot more pressure from the board if we struggle there

Yeah I don’t think anyone has an idea of what Lampard is trying to achieve. Hopefully we will have an better idea when Ziyech and Pulisic is back.

He’s got the players now so hopefully that will start showing this season.

Frank does talk a lot about wanting his attack to be fluid and that makes me worry he’s going down the Mourinho route of not teaching the players set routines and plays. Surely he is clever enough to realise modern football requires the players to be taught ways to break down teams especially in the prem against low blocks.

It’s really hard to not get carried away after a loss but i’m certainly not going to  right now. Let’s see how the attack does when Pulisic and especially Ziyech come in. I think Ziyech will really give us a new dynamic.

The defence is finally just about ready to have the first choice playing most games so let’s give that a bit of time.

Keep the faith people.

I've been meaning to say this since last season but kept putting it of ,I wasn't overjoyed when frank got the job even though I loved him as a footballer ,I don't feel he is the man to take us forward. And as I said this isn't because we just lost,I just haven't felt the connection as I have with some of our managers.

This sounds cruel but Frank was appointed as he loves the club and would take on the job even in the face of a transfer embargo. If we hadn’t been under the embargo would we have gone for him as early as we did? I have my doubts - at the very least we would have let him prove himself further at lower level.

What does that even mean? We pass backwards and sideways more than we give the ball to our attackers

At this moment he's shown me he's a bang average manager.  It's what you do tactically at both ends that counts, not between the two 18 yard lines. Can you score, can you defend at the moment we can't do either. Our attack like last season had little in the way of creativity and ingenuity and in fact today I would say the chances we created were even less than last season; as for the defence, again no change from last year in terms of organization.  This is game # 5 if he can't sort this out by game 10 we are going to have a mediocre season at best.

Scrabbling for a defence, what is interesting is quite a few of the sides who had to play in Europe last month are looking a little worse for wear now - Wolves shipping four at West Ham, Manchester United lucky not to be stuck on zero points, Manchester City’s capitulation against Leicester, us and the first half shambles at West Brom. Going abroad, Bayern lost 4-1 at Hoffenheim, Leverkusen have started their season with two draws,  Inter conceded three at home (though did win), PSG started their season with back-to-back defeats and Lyon haven’t won in four. Barcelona and Sevilla have bucked the trend slightly but they only started their league programme over the last weekend so had a longer rest.

This isn’t trying to excuse Frank’s obvious issues and weaknesses but that lack of a summer break, considering the truncated length, may be playing a part of why, for chunks of games, we look worse than last year.

I guess how Liverpool play with the attackers interchanging and not staying in the same position for the whole match. I agree though we have an issue getting the ball up there a lot but remember we did with Conte in his second season and Sarri who was obsessed with his routines and set plays so... who knows. Lots to work on.

Jesus everyone is on Frank's back here.

I am waiting to see how we are when we get back from international break. When our players have bedded in.

This was always going to be a dodgy start for many reasons. Every club bar Liverpool has looked wobbly.

Having our two best wide players injured and our only decent left back not playing doesn't help matters. We finally have a goalkeeper and not a ghost playing. Our centre backs have looked better this season than last.

Tonight we looked good in the first half and just faded. I'll judge us in November not now.

People need to lower their expectations, real life is not like FIFA where you can buy a player and everything automatically clicks in.

We had no pre-season.

We have 5 new starters, some of which are injured, we are still developing young players that will make small mistakes from time to time it's all a part of it.

Last season with an also new lineup we started with a loss, draw and win in the first three games in the PL as well and we ended up fighting for silverware and finished top 4.

This is still a transition towards becoming a top team, you won't see any great team with such potential that we have to simply click in 2 days, this team is worth the waiting, be grateful that we have such a talented team because if Lampard wasn't here I doubt that players like Kai and Timo would be here.
