It's kind of odd that they're banned from UEFA comps but didn't receive a transfer ban. I think I'd rather have a transfer ban since at least you can still earn money from European comps. It's kinda odd, and maybe I just don't know enough about the situation, but it seems City and Chelsea got absolutely hammered by UEFA for their violations compared to Atletico and Barcelona. Maybe they were different offenses but it seemed like Atletico and Barca just got slaps on the wrist.

Maybe UEFA is starting to take FFP very seriously, or maybe they just don't like the "new money" that Chelsea and Man City are compared to the other "big boys" in Europe?

I agree that if they do not take action against a big European club they will appear to be biased.

I thought Barca got a two window ban while both Madrid clubs and Chelsea got a reduced one window ban, could be wrong.

Hilarious but I want to see the outcome of the appeal process before enjoying this too much. Even if they get a one year ban that’s good enough for me.

Can’t stand the sense of entitlement of these small time bellends and that petulant twat Guardiola, so hopefully cheerio.

Does that mean we can finish outside of the top 4 and still get a spot in next seasons Champions League?

My first thought too after hearing the news:biggrin:

Didn't even fancy that thought. I would think that top 5 would then guarantee CL football if City finish top 4. Then when Chelsea win the CL does that mean top 6 get in?

Good shout.

Its very possible, and highly reasonable, that I am miss remembering what exactly happened with those other two.

City fans are hilarious

"Why hasn't PSG and Chelsea been looked into"........it hasn't crossed their minds that maybe their club has done something wrong and other clubs haven't.

I vaguely saw this news as the headline popped up on my phone, but haven't they been done for breaking FFP law? This is why our board are reluctant to spend a lot of money and not sell to buy. I can't remember the last time City sold to buy.

Great news for us. Gives us a buffer to make CL next season which is so, so vital for us.

This is the best news in years. Those f**kers have been cheating for a decade while everyone else tried to play by the rules. PSG should be next.

Hope that means Pep is off to Juve.

Make no mistake FFP is still a disaster but at least they are finally enforcing it.

Champions of Europe you'll never sing that!

If the FA finally deduces points from them, we might end up 3rd or even 4th....

Surely City will immediately lodge an appeal to the court of arbitration for sport and this will be suspended and then their lawyers will get it overturned or massively reduced? Seems to me the celebrations are a bit premature.
