What's that a 2nd loss for Liverpool in the Champions league, so much for the greatest Premier League team ever.

Like I said in the other thread, I'm not convinced this Liverpool team is as good as many people are saying, they haven't looked good in the Champions League at all. Barcelona did the bottle job of bottle jobs last season, they should've comfortably finished Liverpool off in the first game. I fully believe the Premier League right now is the worst it's ever been in a long time.

Nothing new there to be fair, we always used to get stick (sour grapes as often as not) whenever we beat someone by ceding possession.

*is there a champions league Thread?

Anyway, Ampadu is startign today together wih Laimer who is similar to Mount. Got a great engine will and passion and a good shoot, his passing is not consistant thou.
Are there injuries to Leipzig or why is Ampadu suddenly in the lineup?

Lets hope Ampadu has a good game. (Sad his hair is gone)

Dele Alli throwing his toys out of the pram I see. How he gets away with being sh*te week in week out I don’t know. Stealing a living.

Saw some of the match, first half Leipzig all over Spurs yet couldn't create much. Spurs came forward late in the first yet again could not create anything.

2nd half came back after the goal, and Leipzig still showing high energy levels and containing Spurs.

Ampadu looked comfortable all match though looked like he picked up a knock towards the end.

Like the new hairstyle too.

Note on Werner, busy player yet his shooting did not impress me today.

Once put through with just the keeper in front of him and takes two touches before blasting at the keeper.

Jose's post match interview was weird, never seen him give up before a match. I feel like it's mind games again since he specifically mentioned us, and that was no way to gee up your team by basically saying our pants are down come and f**k us Chelsea.

I feel the same way. The way the rest of the league has set up against Liverpool has been pathetic. Every team is set up to have a go at them, and they all end up leaving gaps open for Liverpool. It doesn't take a genius to work out Liverpool's game plan. They like to get the ball out to the wing and front 3 quickly so they can cause damage. If teams set up a bit better defensively against them, I'm sure some teams would have got a few draws and a few shock wins. European teams are making it tough for them, Premier League teams are doing the opposite.

For the past few seasons, setting up defensively has been looked down on in this league. Coaches like their teams to play open and attacking football, even if it means they will struggle to get any points. I look at the likes of Bournemouth, Norwich and Villa, and all three of them play open football when they could do with a few defensive minded performances. This is why for the past few seasons we have seen the winners of the league break so many records. That last 3 winners of the league title have won 30 or more games, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Liverpool win 37 games this season. We were the first team to win 30 league games since the Premier League began, since then, every team that has gone on to win it has also won 30+ games. That tells me that the Premier League as a whole has really weakened, and I personally think coaches looking down on a defensive minded approach is a big reason why this has happened.
