We moan about some of our own fans but all clubs are the same.

Listening to some of the phone-ins, Spurs fans not so happy now. After a goodish start under Mourinho, many were saying right thing to replace Poch but the bubble has burst and they are now seeing the reality. And just heard an Gooners fan convinced Arsenal will be relegated this season!

It's another weird old season. Who would have forecast Pearson turning things around at Watford as he has (glad we played them when we did). And Eddie Howe was the darling of the English Managers not that long ago - being touted for a big job. Now he is probably favourite to be the next manager to get the sack. And so it goes on........................

Agree generally with what you say though think Pearson may conjure another great escape and right now you get the feeling that perhaps Howe should have taken a big job in the summer.

I think the opposite, they are far better than us right now. They move the ball better, quicker and they create chances. They always manage to test the keeper a bunch of times, even on a bad day. We often struggle to test the keeper for the entire match. Today for example, we didn't test their keeper once after we scored, and this is a regular thing with us. Brighton created better chances than we did, they forced Kepa to make 3 saves.

you might be right :face_palm:

We miss someone with David Luiz passing from defence.

This has somehow become a good day of results for us...

Some yes, though city and Leicester both won so we fall further behind them.

The way we've been playing of late I think we should be more concerned about those behind us as opposed to those ahead of us, based off that I would say we've had a relatively decent day.

Yeah though should have been 3 pojts gained on them all not 1.

Our last goal was scored from a corner...

After the disappointment of the draw, the other results of the day went our way.

Our biggest threats to the top 4 in United, Spurs and Wolves all lost. Just a shame we couldn't extend our lead and reach from 4th to 5th.

Thanks!

Strange but I felt more nervous today then I did for the game against your lot.

How the hell that was not handball I'll never know!

Anyone who beats Spurs deserves to be congratulated ?

Southampton have been playing good football in the past month. It's sometimes hard to believe it's the same team that lost 9-0 to Leicester City back in October.

Impressive wins against Aston Villa, Spurs and ourselves.

Based on their last 8 matches they are third in the league behind City and Liverpool.

Their manager deserves massive praise for galvanising them after the huge defeat as do the board who could easily have sacked him.

I think that game made him realise the system he was trying to get us to play wasn't working and, knew he had to change it.

Takes a brave man to admit he's wrong. Well done Ralph!

What are the odds that Liverpool with all refs and var in their pocket doesn't lose a single game in the league this season?

They need to go 13 more unbeaten in the league to surpass Arsenal's Invincibles side (49 unbeaten across 2 seasons) - seems quite likely to me. It's a bit of an indictment of everyone else!

I don't blame Liverpool I blame everyone else for not stepping up. I admire the Liverpool board on how they have gone about getting Liverpool back up to the top and I can see them remaining there for sometime to come.

Despite them being good. I won't credit them winning the league because of the amount of VAR decisions they've had in their favour. It's ridiculous.

I guess I'm being we just as bitter as when people accused us of "buying the league" in 2005.

This is all fair. Although there is something always ugly in their wins, every time I watched them this season it's mostly some odd decision or a goal in the last minutes...No doubt they deserve to win the league after 30 years though, just looks a bit...not worthy of being the new Invicibles to me, for 3 seasons they have been the best team for the refs where every major decision went their way and when not it was a big deal and drama, they were getting penalties for the slightest of touches....Better them than Spuds I guess.

We got 1 lucky Var decision this season in the league + 1 lucky turnaround in CL where the ref was brutal towards Ajax...Liverpool almost left the pitch in the away game against ManUtd because they wanted a foul and a goal to be taken away from the home team.
