Mason Mount

Can someone, anyone, please direct me to the reports about what he has been saying ?

And not stuff with " it is believed that he etc etc ". Or a " source close to the club says"  .

I've actually just looked on Google and can't find any mention of how he is behaving badly in the saga .

It would be interesting to find out what has gone on behind the scenes for there to be no way back in contract talks. Couple this with the likes of Kovacic and Havertz jumping ship and the body language on the pitch last season of others suggests there have been major problems off the pitch.

We are never going to know what’s gone on this season, at least in the foreseeable future, and it will never be other than someone’s account. It’s obvious that there’s been more going on behind the scenes, it’s been a very weird season, but neither James, Chilly, Silva nor Sterling, Havertz, Cucu or Jorginho (to put also players with no real connection to fans or the club) have being vocal about wanting to move. Kova and Havertz wanted out, but they haven’t driven the price down. Mount's camp are doing it.

Where is Mount being vocal about wanting to move other than simply requesting a transfer? and how are his camp driving the price down ?

As far as I'm aware it's all rumours, nothing directly from Mount or the club.

Law, Romano, Ornstein, Jacobs, Johnson, etc. have all presented their reports as information coming from Mount's end.

Well you're just incorrect, havertz never extended. He joined in 2020 on a 5 year contract.

I also hope he gets to leave. I hope united pay the fee we are looking for.

But if they don't, I hope he stays, works hard and either then gets a contract extension he's happy with or leaves on a free.

Never said Havertz, I said Hazard. But I may be incorrect too 😅

Rumours about Bernardo moving to Al Hilal, so wouldn't surprise if City gazump.

Ah that would be a waste of such a talented player like Bernardo.

I'll take a look , cheers.

But before I do...

I suppose saying he wants to leave us counts as being ' vocal " but it's how every player requests a transfer isn't it ? Is there something else in those reports?

What's the info on his camp " driving the price down ?"

I know, I want everyone else to do the leg work for me  😄!!

I had a look around and found " Mason Mount Man Utd selfie ..is the deal done ?" I thought he had posed in a Utd shirt or something.

Turns out this sports trainer ( who turns out to be a Utd fan ) asked Mason for a selfie then posted it on line with " hope to see you scoring for Utd " He deleted after 1 day , the whole thing is innocent, but the headline wants to stir it up

That headline? Misleading or what ?

Leaking to the press that we either get a price now or he walks to Utd for free next summer. That’s not helping our negotiating strength.

How doesn't it help? In truth it has f**k all impact on anything, do you honestly think our owners will say "ooh just saw Mason apparently told twatter bloke he wants go leave, we better just bend over and take"

They will know if he wants to leave/sign a new contract, they have set a price now Utd need to hit that price or he stays, and I'm more than happy to see the new owners hold fast on fees now, like with Lukaku and Havertz. We've been a soft touch for years, it's good that it's changing, even if it is because we are now being run as a business rather than a rich owners hobby.

I'm not sure if it still applies, as it seems to be a free for all for tapping up nowadays, but there was a time very few players requested a transfer because it negated their signing on fee.

Amazingly they don't put in a request now because it negates this daft thing called "loyalty bonus".....have you ever heard of anything more ridiculous ha ha....

But did he...really ?

Why don't the press come out and say it's come straight from Mount ?

Everyone  involved at Chelsea know he could go for free next summer , Utd are aware of it too a " leak" to the media couldn't have alerted anyone to the situation.

Yeah I was being thick. Even so, this article sounds word for word like the mount story.

I could be wrong but didn't Hazard make it clear he saw his future at Madrid after the 2018 World Cup, but we told him he's staying one last season and he just knuckled down and got on with it? (Maybe we struck a one more year promise ala CR7/Fergie?).

Yes you're right. They used to get 10 per cent of the fee I believe if they didn't hand in a transfer request..

Yes but he never extended his contract and he was sold to the club who bid the valuation.

If day 1 of training happens and Mount isn't there then I change my tune. Until that point, he's done nothing wrong. And if we don't sell him, and he knuckles down and leaves on a free, no issue either.

He did, if I remember correctly.

I don’t think it has nothing to do with how strong our stance is. He's got 1 year left on the contract, which is fair enough that he does not want to sign an extra year. But by leaking (true that it’s all media talk, I give you that) that he is forcing his way out either now or next summer, he’s weakening our stance because Utd can say you take £30 m or leave it because it’s either now or next summer that we get him, while if he had kept his sides gob shut they could think that next summer he might have signed a new contract as he is not that eager to leave. You may not see the difference, but I think it is clear that he is weakening our stance. Obviously it’s all my opinion, just as yours is different.
