my understanding of football and its nuances are greater than yours. you need to stay far away from discussing football and the technicalities behind the sport and just stick to the pies and beers for that gut.

some of our fans really are embarrassing these days jesus, this sport has fallen off

You’re a bit of a whopper aren’t you?

Just an observation.

Fair enough, but Mount hasn't had a season where he's scored/assisted 80% of our goals. Nor do we have less ambition as a club than Man United, we arguably have more since the Glazers took over.

Like I said earlier it really depends on his behaviour afterwards.

RVP was respectful towards Arsenal until they started being c**ts to him.

Both situations are different, RVP was too big for Arsenal, Mason isn't too big for Chelsea but I think he believes he can go be a key player in a different team whereas here he's probably not going to be while also on better wages. That's my guess anyway, I can understand that.

To be honest, £55m for an overated English player (hence even commanding that fee) in his last year of contract is great business. 2 years pittance of his wages(according to him) off the books and a £55m surplus to balance us nicely.

Ask yourself how many opposed to selling Havertz and why not the same level of reluctance or sadness. Some value him so much for being Chelsea but let's not kid ourselves, this is not the behaviour of someone with Chelsea running through his being.

Havertz highest point in past three seasons was champions league goal arguably. Mount's was the assist for the goal.

Good luck Mon£y Ma$e. Thanks for the rare good times but you're not quite as top tier as you think.

Again, difference being that Mount is a Chelsea academy lad and we fans expect (unreasonably, I get it) more from him. It’s ok to want to go, but as I pointed out, Hazard, not being a Chelsea academy player, did everything in his power to help us get a top fee from R Madrid. Mount is not behaving like Courtois, but he’s certainly going against our interests instead of helping the club. Chelsea made him the player he is, he was adored by the fan base, and he is disrespecting us with his camp’s comments.
On the other hand, it’s just ingenuous, to say the least, to think that he wouldn’t be a key player for us when he was voted player of the year twice and us fans loved him. Plus we all know how good he’s been for us.

What a nonsense argument, he almost got both everton and us relegated this season! Hes the worst chelsea manager I think ive seen tactically, and his win record shows it.

He didn't almost get us relegated though, we were awful long before he arrived. To label a coach the worst manager the Premier League has ever seen, you're going to need a lot more than this.

Twice, over two years ago. That's the point here. Mount has been sidelined this season plenty of times. And to be honest I don't think he's been his best for two seasons now. I don't think he's a natural winger or a centre mid, and if his form of late is anything to go by I don't think he's getting game time over Nkunku. So in all honesty, I don't think he's a key player here anymore no.

Mount has to go now. It’s past the point of rapprochment. He isn’t a snake and he isn’t Eve or Adam either. Hope he does well at United and we use the money well. Left wing, inside left is the most competitive position in the team.

He’s been injured and also pants as the rest of the team this season, but most of us were hoping that he’d get back to form given some rest. If he’s not given the opportunity at a Chelsea, where he’s love by the fan base, is he going to be given the same slack at Utd where most fans don’t want to hear about him? If he thinks so, he’s really ingenuous.

In any case, no one is arguing against him going, we’ve all come to terms with it, it is the way that he’s forcing his value down with his comments. Havertz went, no noise from him other than he was ready to move, and did not bring his value down. If Havertz went for £60m, why should Mount want to drive the fee down? That’s what most are arguing.

He probably logged in here for an hour.

Before it came out that he wanted out, this place had the most positivity towards Mount on the entire internet. On home soil, where it matters most, Mount was loved by the fans. The turn around has come about because he is bailing on the club after he contributed heavily to what was an abysmal season. He has no interest in putting that right and getting us back to our best, he wants to escape what he clearly thinks is a sinking ship. After all of the praise he has received, 2 times players of the year and pushing for him to the next captain, he's just like "yeah, f**k you, I'm off"

I don't hope he does well. Him doing well for them hurts us, I hope he ends up as poor for them as he has been for us for the past 16 months.

And his ‘camp’ forcing our hand in the media is frankly taking the piss. Been a long time since I lost this much respect for one of our players. A least with lukaku it didn’t come as a shock

Honestly, this is the part that stings the most. If he wants to leave then so be it but he and his team are essentially forcing the price down and putting United in a better negotiation position. Not to mention turning this into a summer transfer saga when as a club we're trying to transition from what has been a chaotic year. At this point, we should just sell him for 55 or whatever United is offering so both parties can move on.

It’s strange he’s so desperate to go because on the face of it he’s a perfect Pochettino player so something definitely up behind the scenes.

He’s a fine player on his day and I wish him well. He’ll go for £60 million and that’s a huge fee for only having a year left on his contract.

He will do more than alright for Utd I reckon

They can f**k off to their sh*t hole of city with the offer. Good on you Todd, showing that you’ve learned from last summer and showing that we are no pushovers. Sorry for Mount as it appears to be his dream, but that just shows how little Utd think of him. If they don’t come back with the asking price, maybe we can tempt the Saudis to come for a double whopper of Mount and Lukaku.

I'm glad that the Chelsea board is showing that they're no pushovers but I also don't want this whole Mount saga casting a shadow over Pochettino's first pre-season with us. Almost every interview is going to be about Mount from now until he leaves.
