Ethan Ampadu

Tricky one..kid has bags of potential and could be a very good player. But hes had a dreadful season in a dreaful team. Im sure Tuchel could get a tune out of him as a squad player, but after this season, its given me major doubts as to whether he will make the grade.

The first time I saw hiM was in a game at Exeter where he represented them against our youngsters in the EFL trophy. He was the best player on the pitch by a country mile

Think far too many are basing his performance for a poor PL team. Don’t forget he has played over 22 times for Wales

At Sheffield Utd he is playing in the back four his best position and the one he occupies for Wales is a midland then for me it’s a s a holding midfielder.

He is 20 years old and will be a far more rounded player having been playing regularly and in a very challenging environment.

Don’t write him off just yet

He's still young enough for me to believe he has a future here.

Always thought we had a good player on our hands with him. Just needs to keep accumulating game time wherever he is. I think he'll be loaned again next season.

I agree

He'll benefit from another loan (and - hopefully - a good Euros with Wales this summer), but I also think he'd be a good option to provide much-needed CM strength in depth, along with Gilmour. The problem is, like Billy, he just wouldn't play enough.

Finally made his debut for Venezia last night as a first half substitute, and got 52 minutes playing time. Hopefully he did enough to impress the manager and get a run in the team ...

He's only just arrived. His agent sent him to Vicenza by mistake.

Continues to look a class act for Wales. Outstanding in the last three matches v Ukraine, Belgium and The Netherlands, the first at RCB, the latter two at CM.

Wales online player ratings for last night in Rotterdam:

"

Ethan Ampadu - 7 - STAR MAN

Snuffed out Lang when the Dutchman was about to pull the trigger. Pulled the strings and drove on, also mopping up when required. Appears to grow in stature with every match. Past two games in midfield have surely given Page something to think about long term? "

Did well at CB out in Italy by all accounts, so I hope TT will reward him by giving him a proper chance in the coming season.

Definitely the forgotten man. This is the w**ker Steinberg (the twat who wished a career-ending injury on Lamps and mocked Matthew Harding's death) in the Guardian today:

Yet there is so much to do this summer. Chelsea cannot go into the season with their options at centre-back made up of Thiago Silva, who turns 38 in September, and the inexperienced trio of Malang Sarr, Levi Colwill and Trevoh Chalobah, especially if César Azpilicueta is allowed to join Barcelona.

Not saying he is the replacement we need for Rudiger, but he is a very talented player who gets mysteriously overlooked.

If we have to go into next season with a centre back quintet of Silva, Chalobah, Colwill, Ampadu and Sarr, I'd certainly have faith in Tuchel being able to come up with a combination in either a 2 or a 3 that was defensively solid.

The prospect of Silva alongside say Colwill/Chalobah/Ampadu has definite shades of the Desailly/young JT partnership for me ...

If we can keep Silva fit it could work (Sarr not included, the guy is out of his depth), only problem is if he has injury issues or worse his "Terry 15/16" or "Carvalho 09/10" type season we're f**ked.

100% agree on Sarr, but maybe Chalobah, Colwill and Ampadu pairings (or trio) might surprise us in Silva's absence. Risky agreed, and also highly unlikely that we won't sign at least one CB, if not two ... !

It's nothing against them as players but has having solely young players in certain positions worked before?

I remember being relieved signing Eto'o and Willian in 2013 because it balanced out a ridiculously young frontline and three behind.

This just sends me to the player comparison main page, don't know who you're comparing him to

Oh, sorry
