Kai Havertz

Ironically TT had the perfect forward for his style at the club when he joined. Sadly his legs were going at that point. A younger version has all the tools this TT side needs to bring others in to the game, be a target man, have excellent technical skills and be a dog of war:

happy olivier giroud GIF by Chelsea FC

But he couldn’t press was the argument., I think firmino is his dream player for this system

He could and did very well in his younger days

Sadly Broja is not fit enough for that. Barley had any pre season and he is not sharp.

On Kai I will call this, he won't be at the level we need under TT, the system does not suit him. He is shoehorned in to positions and becomes a none event.

I am not a fan of his but is clear to me he has excellent technique, @Gol15 Kaka comparison is on the money for me but we don't play with a Kaka position. Like Timo it is best for us, Kai and TT if Kai is sold asap and we bring in a dog of war for TT to replace him.

Tuchel was ready to essentially ditch Kai for Haaland after winning the CL, he was fine with the alternative in Lukaku and it didn't work out. If he somehow manages to find his man for that spot, he'll be untouchable like Benzema is right now for Real Madrid but the question is if Tuchel is capable of finding that player?

Those data analysis should be able to help him out.

Just plonk it in their system. Hard worker, unselfish, excellent technique, strong and good in the air, about to press for 90 plus minutes etc.

You cant criticise him though because he's only 23 and he scored the winning CL goal for us, and he has a silky first touch.

When Broja gets his first start for us Havertz is benched for a while.

Sad thing is we can expect more performances like that this season. Just isn’t cut out for this league.

Tuchel needs to make a decision soon. Hope he slowly transitions Broja in.

I am a big fan of Broja. While I cannot say for sure he longterm will have the quality to make it as TT focalpoint forward I can say, with 100% belief, no one will question his work ethic to try and be so if given his chance. And I mean a proper run, not a few late sub appearance.

We also need to remember Broja has not had a preseason as he got injured after coming back late from internationals. We need to have patience with him, he does seem to have all the tools a young Giroud had.

Havertz would work in the number 9 if we had runners off him, similar to what Liverpool have had for the past few season with Mane and Salah off Firmino. It's a start with Sterling but sadly you need someone similar the other side and Mount doesn't really suit that role.

Similarly, Havertz would work much better as one of the "10's" alongside Mount if we had a natural number 9, however we don't.

Sadly it seems Kai is very much a square peg with nothing but round holes to squeeze into currently.

With Mount and James having bad games down the right it left Havertz more or left relying on the left side or long balls. Think maybe not the match to judge him on.

Broja looked a real talent yet like Giround don't think so, though he may become a decent no.10.

He is good in the box and has a turn of speed and dribbling ability yet we need to see if he can deliver for us

You lot are getting into the weeds about havertz, My concern would be the level of difference in his game just moving him in or out wide on the frontline, He needs to buck up his ideas and double down on his fitness/workrate

I would usually say if a player is that rubbish just moving him out from the middle he aiint that good full stop - its not like he was playing cb ffs!

He will need to cement himself in the team this year, Personally I would prefer havertz central and sterling out wide, Sterling offers a lot but will struggle against big cbs on his own centrally

Dont people get bored defending this guy?. Guys show more energy defending him than he does on the pitch.

Broja should start over him.

Think he will leaving in the summer with 2yrs left on his contract. Bayern already made enquiries about him this summer as a replacement for Lewandowski, I can see it happening next summer. He will be ideal for them with Mane on his left, & Gnabry on his right,

I would be gutted to see him go,he would be so much better behind a striker.

More ideal playing for the best team in a rubbish league 😂

I do not believe that all our attacking players, including Kai, are trash. They don't become sh*t and unfit for purpose just like that.

We need to play to the strengths of our attacking players. Whoever that is.

I genuinely believe that if you put Kai in the City or Liverpool team, then he excels. I genuinely believe that if you put Salah or Haaland in the Chelsea team, they flop.

I still somewhat believe that, but take a look at the profile of players.

Salah, Dias, Foden, Mahrez, B.Silva are all able to take players on individually. They don't require assistance from others, they have unique creative/attacking characteristics to be independent. We can't say that about anyone bar Sterling. This is what Tuchel is looking for and why its important to get a DoF in before we make any more wrong attacking signings.

At the moment nothing has changed my mind about Havertz and he's likely the first attacker gone next summer.

It is the manager job to get the best out of what they have.

Tbf most of them were sh*t and unfit for purpose before we signed them.  It isn't like we signed a bunch of stars that flopped.  Most of them had never played at the highest level prior to signing for us and the one that had (Lukaku) flopped at that level previously.

Werner - Looked good in the worst defensive league in Europe.

Havertz - Looked good in the worst defensive league in Europe.

Pulisic - looked sh*t in the worst defensive league on Europe.

Ziyech - played in the Dutch league.

It's not like these guys were top Premier league performers before us.  They just don't have the quality for this level it isn't something Tuchel or any manager can fix.

Why wait? Get Bayern to stump up the cash and let him go now if TT intends on not using him as a number 10.

It looks like he is a goner 😱😱😱

Tuchel keep talking about playing sterling as false 9.

Not great for Broja either then.

Maybe will be Mount, Sterling and Pulisic on Sunday then, or perhaps Ziyech or Gallagher?

I agree, but when players can't control a ball, can't finish an easy attempt, or simply fail to cope with the pace of the league, not much more the manager can do.

Maybe just maybe stop putting him on the wing
