They've probably watched the Chelsea YouTube compilation rather than the Leverkusen one and realised he's toss.

I think its the price. At this rate I don't believe any deal going through. Awaiting for the Mount and Kovacic deals to collapse now.

It's funny how every club wants atleast 60 mill from us even for players like Cucurella but are unwilling to pay more than 20 mill for any of our players.

Because they aren't stupid.

Boehly went full special Jack last summer.

This is what happens when the club have zero leverage. Named our price but RM told us to feck off as everyone knows that the longer we go on without successfully selling anyone the more desperate we get.

Colwill may seriously be sold first because he's one of the few several clubs will be interested in early doors. Him and perhaps Mount for a cut price deal.

It is widely believed we need to raise near 100mill in FFP by June 30 or face sections.

Clubs know this and want to take advantage of it, as we would in their places.

So United will likely stick to 50mill on Mount expecting us to crumble near the 30th, Brighton will push for Colwill for the same reasons.

If we see a few panic cheap sales around that date, then we know the truth.

Yeah but I don't think it will help Real in this case. With Kais remaining book value of 28mill if we drop out price to say that 40mill low end 12mill does very little to help us with FFP.

Like yoy said though a Colwill at the near 40mill Brighton have on the table, Mount at 50 or perhaps a 55mill offer, and Maatsen to Burnley at 15mill and we cover the reported needed debt.

TBH, I don't know why were so concerned with FFP... It's not like any other club is... Manchester City and football clubs with wealthy owners will just keep kicking the can down the road with court and legal costs.

What if a club is in profit the following season, doesn't that count towards FFP as well?

June 30th has been mentioned as a 'soft deadline' as well, so no idea what the full extent of when players need to be sold is.

Seems like on our end we are more worried about having a smaller squad + raising enough funds to buy Caicedo. FFP/Deadline doesn't seem to bother us.

Would be sorry to see him go given his obvious talent and workrate, but he's never really shown consistency for any great length of time, even when he has been playing in more obviously suitable positions than up front.

From what I read, he's the backup choice should the Kane deal collapse. Levy will do his usual thing and drag the negotiation deep into July ( if not August) to keep Kane, and leave us waiting in the wing. I thinkis whether Pochettino sees a future with Havertz, and vice versa. If it's a yes, offer him a deal, otherwise add him to the transfer list.

Apparently us and Kai have held talks where it was agreed he would like a new challange and is not willing to sign a new deal so he agrees to be sold.

Our price is set at 75mill and we are looking to get more than just Real interested.

Thing is, if all the clubs mess us about until 30th June, they know that we will be forced to drop the price.

That assumes there is no competition for the player.  That might be right or it might not be. Waiting to the last minute to buy didn't do us much good last season and I don't see why it does anyone else much good this season. It's nearly always best to get the squad settled as early as possible. Sure you might leave a couple of stars on the sideline till the sidemen have the rhythm down but basically you want your machine warmed up early on. Then you can spend the first third of the season getting everything going nicely ready to gradually accelerated into the best 11 as the business end approaches.

Some reports that Real have withdrawn their interest in Kai now. Whether this is to try and get him to force a move and lower his price, or a true withdrawal we will see.

Either way Kai apparently told us he wants out so will have to see if anyone else is interested and willing to go near our 75mill price.

This is my worry for this season, because of our spending last season everyone knows we need to sell by end of June ideally, and with academy players being the most profitable asset to sell, and then everyone will know we will be in the market afterwards, so we are potentially in a weak position in both cases.

Also the real possibility of losing out on good players while this is happening, Mcallister for £35m is a bargain IMO and now that opportunity is gone, while we are busy haggling with Man Utd to sell Mount to potentially make us even weaker.

I hope I’m wrong and it all works out but I’m not that confident on this window working out the way Todd thinks it will.

I remember years ago we signed Fabregas and Costa very early and ended up winning the league. Two players we desperately needed.

What we need right now is a striker and DM, almost similar. My god it would be great if we could repeat that, the striker situation is difficult because even I don't know who to bring in. I would love Kane but I can't see it, the only thing that makes Kane even a slight possibility is Pochettino but I don't think that's enough.

Yep, getting them 2 early made a big difference that season.

Liverpool pulled off a great move getting McAlister nice and early IMO, but what they did isn’t rocket science.

Real feel 60m euros is too much but they want him. They will continue to negotiate with Chelsa.

Real have money and Kai is not Mount, a complete FFP profit. 28mill is still Kais book value, so we need a good price to give us a good profit on that otherwise there is no point selling him.

Real still want Kane on top of the 100m they splashed for Bellingham.
