October 5, 20232 yr 9 minutes ago, RIP Mourinho said: You're making out he's a criminal. He was betting on Newcastle games while on loan in league one, its hardly the same as being a top tier criminal like you're making out. Genuinely shocked you're trying to compare someone sticking acca's on at a weekend to someone smashing class A drugs and others with genuine evidence of sexual assault. Actual criminal offences. I too don't believe we need Toney as we're building for the future and i'd rather the games go to Jackson/Broja, but lets not pretend like Toney wouldn't improve us or that he's some criminal mastermind. Sorry, he is convicted of illegally gambling on football matches, rules that stop the game being brought into disrepute, that try to tackle match fixing and or tampering with the results of the sport. See Juve and now Barcelona for responses to tampering with results, the ongoing Barca case isn't even widely reported. they were paying referees to throw games. Tony was betting on results as a player in games he was playing in and some he wasn't, some were bets against the club he was paid to represent and play for, others were not. He was convicted under the laws of the FA... I didnt find him guilty of the offences he has committed, nor did I find him guilty. The football world has, At best he's an addict at worst a cheat. dont miss the point that two players accused of rape/ sexual assault were actually not charged by the police or found not guilty at retrial. Yet, when I floated the idea of Mason Greenwood at Chelsea people were very quick to say they didnt want him at the club because of the allegations that surrounded them despite them not being proven by any authority. Then also to our own CHO who faced similar allegations to Greenwood and Evans but fans were ok with CHO remaining a CFC player. So yeah, funny how one can be convicted/sentenced (8 months global ban from the game) and people dont think cheating or potential match fixing is problematic, see how cricket treats match betting and fixing, lifetime bans from the sport - while two men cleared of sexual assault or rape are found not guilty and blacklisted from the game by clubs and fans having not done anything wrong. Anyhow, this is boring, fans want us to sign a cheat, cool, I'll be less interested in what we do as a fan and certainly dont think we need a player as tainted as Toney on the books.
October 5, 20232 yr Toney bet on games he was not playing in, so could not influence the outcome. The games he played in he bet on himself to score. No possibility to fix anything, but still contrary to FA rules. Hence guilty.

Same FA that convicted Terry of racism, guess we should've cancelled his contract and wiped all existence of his history with the club. As previously said, he didn't bet on a single game to lose he was involved in. The games were either against his parent club when he was on loan elsewhere or he didn't feature. Only played in games he had bet on his team to win. What exactly was he fixing? That he might try harder to win to win his bet? Evidence against Greenwood is substantial, you can go and listen to the recordings yourself. Comparing betting to sexual assault is a weird angle to take.

Gambling and sexual assault are not comparable at all it’s pretty obvious that greenwood is as guilty as sin and the witnesses all retracting on the same day lends belief to the feeling that they were all paid off
October 7, 20232 yr Awful 1st half from broja. Jackson is quite simply 10x the player, we looked so much better in the 2nd half once that sub was made. Should sell Broja the first chance we get

Rape and abuse are on a completely different level to gambling. Have you listened to the audio of Greenwood? I don’t want someone like him anywhere near the club. The only reason he’s not in prison is he’s back with his victim and the prosecution witnesses withdrew their statements. I’m also not getting your opinion that Toney is a cheat. He looks a lot more like a compulsive gambler such are the number of bets he placed. If we are in for him I’d be wanting him to stop gambling entirely

Just think we are far batter when Jackson is playing. Broja would have re-torn that ACL had he even attempted that turn Jackson did for the 4th goal😂
October 7, 20232 yr He had next to no service. If Jackon had been on in the 1st half, it would have been the same. And Jackson wasn't really involved much in the 2nd either, apart from his goal.
October 7, 20232 yr Love Broja. Needs a bit of help and time but he has all the tools to become an important player for us.

The first half from us was sh*te. We were doing what we usually do, slow build up from the back, taking too long to get it into attack positions. There wasn't a single pass or cross played into him that he could have done anything with. Jackson has been in the same position himself a few times this season.

You are ignoring or twisting a lot of things in this post. The case against Greenwood was dropped because key witnesses backed out, that doesn't make him innocent in the slightest. Even if this case went the distance and he was cleared of sexual assault, that wouldn't necessarily make him innocent either, it could just mean that the jury didn't feel the evidence presented was enough to give a guilty verdict. It's pretty damning that after such a long time nobody in the Greenwood camp has come out and denied it, not even Greenwood himself. United's actions and pathetic statement also says a lot. As for the other players, the circumstances were completely different. All we could go on was one word against the other. Edited October 8, 20232 yr by Scott Harris

Neither are innocent, both are "not guilty" which is entirely different.

We cannot stop players joining their national sides, plus Mando needs games, and as we saw with Lavia players get injured training with us.

I totally agree especially with lavia getting injured at Cobham but Broja has been out for 10 months and only had 2 games under his belt. He would have been better served building up his fitness with the 2 weeks off, besides Albania won their game 4 nil without him so was he really needed.
