Even if you "discount" Nico's hat trick against Spurs as it was tap ins against 9 men, he's still ahead LOL. Yes Jackson has had some horrific misses, but at least he's getting himself in the positions to have such misses. Broja isn't even getting that far ! Rags saying Eghbali has instructed to sell Broja, Maatsen, Madueke and Gallagher this winter window.

I guess in 5 weeks we'll find out if they actually have an inside scoop, or were just making it up ! Or more likely were just throwing mud around in the hope that some of it will stick 🙂

If Conor goes though it might be what tips sections of our fan base over the edge.

December 28, 20232 yr This is the only thread i haven't seen Bob Stark post in. No doubt he is still waiting for the Armando Borja thread to start

December 29, 20232 yr He’ll probably end up at Dortmund or similar and he’ll tear up the Bundesliga for a couple of years before moving back to the EPL and be distinctly average.
December 29, 20232 yr I reckon the club wants 100mill in pure profit IF the linked players are actually sold: Gallagher: 45mill Broja: 20mill Maatsen: 20mill Chalobah: 15mill Need 26mill to break even on Noni for FFP.
December 30, 20232 yr Stop giving this lad game time. Can't think of a Chelsea player who's had more undeserved minutes than Broja. As pure a Donkey as you'll ever see at PL level if we don't ship him out and sign a striker in January we're in big trouble because you just can't expect anything from Broja. He's not even good enough to miss chances he simply doesn't get them because he doesn't do anything. Edited December 30, 20232 yr by Whats_The_Mata?
December 30, 20232 yr Poor again today. When he was coming into the team last season I had hopes, he was a young player with potential, I liked what I'd seen at Southampton. Perfect player for a rotation/bench option. Problem is, because he's basically been out for a year, he's now at the same level he was then, probably lower due to lack of game time, whereas he should have been a year ahead in his progression. So if we sign someone new, it'll have to be Jackson who is that younger, potential player, because he is currently better.

Brojas sold 100% in the jan window, we'll get another striker hopefully lets hope he is experienced

The amount we get in January is not going to be any less than what we get in the summer anyway.

It's about us attempting to achieve something on the pitch be it a cup or at least getting as many points on the board as possible. Neither of those goals can be achieved giving minutes to deadwood like Broja so it's in both the club and the players interest for him to move on.

I noticed you haven't popped in to the Madueke thread after the game today to give us the benefit of your unrivalled wisdom and footballing insight. According to you he's another of our apparently endless list of untalented youngsters. Odd that because it was only two weeks ago you wrote this; "Poch already thought he was sh*te at Spurs and was happy for him to leave. Incredibly quick feet but in terms on IQ, work ethic off the ball, link up play, actually striking or passing a ball he's a long long way from being an option for a PL team. If we can get £15m for him in January we'd be foolish not to move him on." Go on fella. Get in there and give him a shoeing. You know you want to.
December 30, 20232 yr Broja for me today, very decent first half and total non-entity in the second. One thing I would like to see him do more is staying central rather than drifting out wide when we have possession. My heart was in my mouth when he went down injured. From his reaction it looked like a reoccurrence of the knee injury and I believe he thought it was serious too when it happened. Mentally he possibly needs two or three challenges like that where he comes through it, to fully trust his body and realise that mashing up his knee is not necessarily going to happen again.

Actually for me until now I have felt he hasn't really had that much of an opportunity. But today he had every opportunity and I thought he was generally woeful. All he can do is receive the ball with his back to goal and hold his man off for a few seconds. If this is his level I would put him as mid table Championship standard. On this showing he certainly isn't the answer for us and we absolutely must have a reliable striker.

I thought he was borderline average in the first half and, as you say, disappeared in the second. I'm not convinced he will get his chance with Jackson away as I suspect Pochettino will go for Nkunku as the main goal threat.
