June 28, 20206 yr Good second half. Well done Frank for turning it round. Going to miss going to Wembley with all the lads it's always a good day out.
June 28, 20206 yr example of Super Frank pulling the strings In Super Frank's first season, he has guided Chelsea to Wembley. That has to speak for something special IMO
June 28, 20206 yr Kante should be on the bench against West Ham, I'm starting to notice that teams have a difficult time to adapt to this improved pressing game with Kante being behind 2 more offensive oriented midfielders it's working well and we're winning games but Kante did have an injury and I worry Frank might be overplaying him if he starts again vs West Ham. Barkley's winning goal today and the chances he had against Man City all testify that 2 in front of Kante make all kinds of trouble for the opposition and that has been winning us games, we don't care to keep the possession of the ball that much anymore but we are much more faster in our attacks. The drawback is that Kovacic is once again a bench player and Jorginho isn't playing at all but as long as we're winning it's all worth it. I really hope we get Arsenal in the semis and then beat ManU in the final just like some years back... Edited June 28, 20206 yr by Gol15
June 28, 20206 yr Just now, The Don Antonio said: yes they are.lol A massive empty ground like Wembley if Man City win later it's definitely an advantage to them they're used to it ?
June 28, 20206 yr Not a great performance but then again look at the other semifinals, Arsenal have been crap against Sheffield Utd, Manure were not great against an almost relegated Norwich... So far this come back from the lockdown has got that preseason feeling.
June 28, 20206 yr Even Emerson was better than Chilwell today, and that is saying something because Emerson's performance today was pretty much standard Emerson. If we spend 80 million on him it will be a waste
June 28, 20206 yr I just got to say that we would be absolute fools to buy Chillwell judging by recent and performances after christmas. Today Willian went past him like he was not even there, his crosses was weak and I laughed when he fumbled the ball across the line after a good pass by Tilemanns. Imagine spending 80 mil+ on this guy. I'm even more against it this time, then when we bought Drinkwater.

June 28, 20206 yr Anyone else see Robbie Savage's meltdown when questioned about a Leicester rebuild? To be fair to the idiot he was right in most of what he said but his over-reaction and subsequent wind up was hilarious!

I am sure Ross has a lots of fans on these boards, but since I've watched Chelsea this season I've never been impressed with Barkley for these reasons. 1 - He's very slow with the ball at his feet. It seems like everything slowed down half a second when he's driving with the ball in a counter attack. 2 - He's very slow with this thoughts. I am not saying he's dumb, but his soccer IQ is not very high. Many occasions, he just doesn't seem like he knows what to do with the ball. 3 - Poor decisions. #2 above is also a big contribution to this. In this game alone, he had made multiple choices that were very poor. He had Pedro running on his right and completely free, yet he decided to pass to the left to RLC, and behind him. Which ended up in lost possession or killing the attack. A more capable player could have had created last least 2-3 solid chances on goals from those counter attack opportunities. I just don't see Barkley having a starting role on this team, especially a team that has inspirations to win EPL and CL trophies. Which means you have to best teams like Liverpoool, Man City, Bayern, Real Madrid, Barca, Jeventus, etc. At best, Barkley is a sub on this team going forward into the new seasons. However, he deserve credit for the game today. He came on as a sub, made an impact, score a goal, and help win the game.

He recognized that his initial setup was bad, understood that the midfield was in shamble, then had the courage to pull the trigger while possibly making some people unhappy or some kids cry. Frank is here to manage a team, and win games. He's not here to baby sit. You earn the rights to be on the field, no matter who you are. He could have very well pulled Emerson and Kante too, but I think Frank is probably wanting to rest Alonso and we may see Kante sit next week for Jorgi as well.

She's not the type to waste Roman's money.

Super Frank would have benched Chillwell for his performance today, but where was his help on the goal? He was trying to mark two players & that gave Willian the space to put in the cross for the winning goal
