However he was fantastic today one lasp where he got caught up field but apart from that faultless Huh? Leicester fans said he was a weak link??

They said he was quite a reliable standard left back who didn’t stand out and worth nowhere near 50m. They also said his positioning was quite poor and he showed a glimpse of that today on two occasions where he went some random wander. That being said, the improvement over what we have is significant enough to justify the price. He was excellent today and both times he wandered, Zouma covered. I wasn’t keen on the signing but I hold my hands up and admit I bought into the price tag. He was excellent today and he’s still young.

October 3, 20205 yr I was one of those who questioned his price so was pleasantly surprised to see him play so well today. Like others have said a long time since we had a decent left back. He seemed confident with good judgement and a great delivery. Not sure what happened at Leicester towards the end perhaps he just wanted out.
October 4, 20205 yr I questioned the price but on that one showing he looks great. The crosses are a pleasure to watch.
October 4, 20205 yr Seems to have great stamina to get up and down the flank all game long. Great balance on the left side of the pitch - very strong signing.
October 5, 20205 yr What a pilllock with a capital P ,that great game that he had on saturday against Palace = two steps forward but the mongger has taken one step back with his actions of breaking cov 19 regulations after been at a party with that other chelsea pillliock Tammy > wake up and smell the coffee Chilwell fella or you be going down exactly same Road as mr barkley at chelsea
October 13, 20205 yr Chilwell has been removed form England duty and sent back to Chelsea, looks like he is done again. Why can’t we seem to keep players fit it used to be a staple of Chelsea having very few injuries consistently.

Went downhill after she left.
October 13, 20205 yr Feels bad, some of us did have fears about our players that just came back from injury, they shouldn't be a part of the national team so quickly IMO.
October 13, 20205 yr If he is injured again what a pain in the arse that is. I can’t deal with dumb and dumber at LB so we’ll have to go azpi imo.
October 13, 20205 yr Wasn't he training separately as was unwell (not covid) but it wasn't a physical injury or recurrence of the heel. I hope it is precautionary - these injuries are problematic, If he can't play against Saints we simply must play Reece Zouma Silva Dave across the back.
October 13, 20205 yr First Mendy now Chilwell, who is next? Is Dave with his national team? Zouma is could be him. Imagine going form the back 4 and keeper that were superb against Palace to: Kepa James Rudiger Christensen Alonso Lol

October 13, 20205 yr I blame the fans, including many here. The interest towards these matches and 'teams' should have been dead long time ago. As long as fans go to stadiums, show interest in who is selected, who starting and who is making a debut and consider it big achievement, there will be more pointless friendlies. October 13, 20205 yr Droopy, you are blaming people on the forum for International friendlies? Am I reading that right?
October 13, 20205 yr I’ve also read that him coming back to Chelsea was just precautionary so I guess we’ll wait and see.

October 14, 20205 yr Never cease to amaze me how people interpret statements. I don't blame particular people I blame the way they think. And I say many people here think the same way - they care about this goddamn useless matches. And it's true. And yes, they are the reason these matches still exist via their 19th century thinking that representing your country is such a big honor and deal. No, it's not. It hasn't been since countries like France, Netherlands, Germany, England and even Italy started to make transfers so to speak of players from different parts of the world. These matches should have been forgotten long time ago but because of the fools and their blind interest they are still here, interrupting the first half of the season three times a year. Harry Maguire, an abomination of a football player he is cost United 80 bloody millions because he scored some headers against Colombia, Panama and Paraguay. And that because people think these matches matter. Edited October 14, 20205 yr by Droopy
October 14, 20205 yr As much as no one likes friendlies the manager of the national team needs a bit of time to get his system going and players gel, they can’t be expected to just get the players a week before a tournament then win the World Cup on the fly. Of course they are a pain but if you want international tournaments which I think we all do they are unfortunately necessary.
October 14, 20205 yr I don't want. I don't want Euro Cup, I don't want World Cup. Chilwell is injured now because he went to play for his second club. Edited October 14, 20205 yr by Droopy
October 14, 20205 yr @Droopy The World Cup has been the most important football event and historically that's what made Pele and Maradona the greatest players of all time, it's the standard of greatness for a good reason, even if the corruption is still growing and people being exploited and we see the host being Qatar and so on... Maybe in the future it really will lose its significance but it isn't happening that soon.
