I suspect we will move for another LB in January now. At least cover for Alonso for a busy schedule in the second half of the season. I would prefer a permanent signing to a loanee I think, although I would also favor a recall of Maatsen or Colvill if that is an option for either of them. I wouldn’t be too quick to make a permanent signing in Jan till Tuchel has a closer look at Maatsen & Colwill. I think both contracts expire in the summer, and Barca are interested in signing Maatsen.

Ian Maatsen is contracted to us until 2024, Levi Colwill signed a new 4 year deal in the summer and is contracted until 2025. Their loan contracts may not allow them to be recalled if they played x number of games. Edited December 28, 20214 yr by axman2526

I can’t see Milan selling a key player to us now.

Alonso's contract is up in 2023 and I doubt we will offer him a new one based on our policy towards older players. So we also need to think about an Alonso replacement in the next year or so.

March 7, 20224 yr Had a dream last night that I was at the Bridge, and the only thing I remember about it was Chilwell was out there playing. Had this feeling of excitement when I woke up, only for it to dissipate when I realized I had only been dreaming

June 27, 20224 yr If Azpi leaves, how about Chilwell for captain? I think he would be perfect. Right age, English, experienced. Seems very popular. Would take the pressure off Mount and James as well.

I'm sure vice captain awaits him in the future.

Got dropped for England and admitted that it affected his mental state and confidence significantly. Not looking to diminish the seriousness of mental health issues, but being dropped/rested as a professional footballer pretty much comes with the territory, so i think many would have been surprised by this.
June 30, 20224 yr Great watch this. Explains why he was able to make such a quick recovery from rehab and the reassurance he should be back to his former self.

Explains why he was able to make such a quick recovery from rehab and the reassurance he should be back to his former self. Man this guy loves to toot his own horn. Firstly he styles himself as Dr Rajput Brar on his social handles - which of course he is entitled to do as a PhD, but he is no medical doctor and it seems as if he relies on that to add weight to his opinions. Secondly, he is quick to comment on Twitter (days, if not hours after viral incidents) and as he is not a treating practitioner, the commentary ends up being generic and often dramatised for the sake of clicks/views. He has a very lucrative grift from stating the obvious - much like the usual Twitter crowd. The video linked is the perfect example, produced in a clickbait style, that simply states Chilwell recovered quickly because he is fit, motivated and had access to expensive and high-quality therapy.
August 6, 20223 yr I am surprised that Chilwell isn't fitter. According to this thread he has been in training 5-6 weeks. Is this because training is still injury impacted and he is on a light schedule? If so does anyone know when he might be expected to be fully fit?
