I really like Chilwell going forward but as a defender he isn't great. It'll be interesting to see who ends up getting more games between him and Cucurella this season if we play mostly 4 at the back, with wing backs we could play both.

Given his injury, he’s had a great start to the season and contributing a lot. One of my favourite players. 

I thought the player just managed to sky it and the ref saved face for him giving a corner.

Did not seen an angle that showed Ben blocked it. Kudos to him.

Yeah I thought the player had skied it but on second viewing, Chilly got there in time and put his foot there to block it

Seeing as Potter likes playing wingers at wing back, Chilwell should just say he is a left winger.

Wouldn't be surprised if his agent start talking to the media about is lack of game time, and to be fair it's really not Chiwell's  fault. Maybe he could play LCD too, can't be much worse than the Cucurella.

The conditions on the pitch tonight were all there for a potential problem, feel sorry for him but Southgate prefers Luke Shaw anyway; so it’s not the same as Reece James’ situation who was the genuine number 1 choice. 

Improper recovery led to this. The fact it’s happening to a lot of our players suggests something much deeper. 
 

No wonder medical team was sacked.

England doesn't really bother me, I care more about Chelsea. This is going to seriously hurt us. Tonight was big reminder of what we have been missing, because he was excellent before getting injured.

Sad thing is the same thing happened last season with them both and the club signed coocorella and extended Dave’s contract. This is all on Bully and slightly Marina for flogging Lamptey & Livramento when loans would of done and ffs Marina loved a loan or twenty !

Neither of them wanted to extend contracts and where in their final years .. we offered the option of going to loan after signing but they chose to go altogether.

Chilwell would be a downgrade if we played him at CB every week.

Let‘s face it: as much as we love Chilly for his capabilities and personality, if he is only available from summer to winter, he is useless for us. Shambles.

Breaking: Ben Chilwell is almost certain to miss the World Cup - and is set to be out for a large chunk of the season.

Ben Chilwell is being sent off for scans but there is a suspicion he may have torn the hamstring muscle which is more serious than a routine pull. A full diagnosis is expected within the next 24 hours.

I imagine Cucurella will be played more in his preferred position for a while now. Although that is also dependent on us having sufficient coverage in central defense. We need to prioritize a RB/RWB cover for Reece in January.

We should of got his cover in the summer just gone, we knew he was going to get injured again, but someone decided to give Dave another season, another mad decision, yes it's hindsight, but Chelsea fans know an ageing RB when we see one and Dave was looking past it last season.

Well that is a repeat of last season then, James out for a few periods, Ben for most of the season, and their cover is sh*t.
