As I was reading that, the ideas became more and more absurd. What is it with these people always thinking there is something wrong with how things currently work and that there is need for massive changes?

Pretty much every single thing suggested in that article I am against.

In the Juve Porto game the Chelsea associated players have dominated the last 10 minutes, Sarr with a thunderbolt straight at the keeper, Morata with an offside goal & Cuadrado rattling the bar in stoppage time.

Decent game, if we manage to get through I wouldn't mind getting Juve, they look very unJuve like and wide open in defense.

It would be a good matchup for us I believe, I saw Conte outplaying Juventus with his own back 3 formation and like you say Juventus definitely looks weaker right now defensively speaking. I hope we pass Atletico first and then avoid Bayern in the next round.

That was a great game, good to have a strong team eliminated as well for our chances

Juve have been poor this season so far, based over the 2 legs Porto were a far better team in comparison.

I bet everyone would want to avoid Porto in the next round.

Porto's penalty is one of the worst things about modern football. Why has this type of cheating been accepted in the game? The attacker throwing his leg out into the defender should not be a penalty, if anything, it should be given as a foul to the defender.

If that is the other way around, and it's the defender forcing his leg into the attacker, the attacker falls over and he rightfully gets a penalty, so why is it that when the attacker throws his leg into the defender, it's the defender that is penalised?

The whole game was just players throwing themselves to the floor at the merest of contact, often holding their face even when the contact was nowhere near it. Just 2 sets of disgusting cheaty little c**ts.

Latinos call it passion, we call it cheating.

Couldn't think of anywhere else to post this.

Brazil's iconic Maracana stadium is to be named in honour of the country's legendary footballer Pele.

The move follows a vote by the Rio de Janeiro state legislature to change the venue's name to the Edson Arantes do Nascimento - Rei Pele stadium.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento is the 80-year-old's full name, while Rei means king in Portuguese.

The Rio de Janeiro's state governor must approve the name change before it becomes official.

Pele, who won three World Cups as a player for Brazil, scored his 1,000th goal at the stadium in 1969 when playing for Santos against Vasco da Gama.

The Maracana held the 1950 and 2014 World Cup finals, as well as the opening ceremony of the 2016 Olympics.

More than 200,000 spectators are reported to have been in the stadium to watch Uruguay beat Brazil in the 1950 final, although its capacity is now 78,838.

It was named after Mario Filho, a journalist who lobbied for its construction in the 1940s, but was known as the Maracana after the area in which it is located.

That’s got to be one of the worst VAR decisions of all time.

Seriously how can a professional referee with technology not give that.

We have the worst refs in Europe.

Southampton are dreadful, absolutely dreadful. How the f**k did we not beat them? They are defensively worse than any team of the bottom three.
