Unlike some real w**kers of record signings before and after him he appears to have some self awareness and good character so for that reason my issues with him don't stretch further than the pitch and I'll remember him fondly despite not really rating him.
May 31, 20233 yr He deserves praise for this season (a genuine shout for club POTS) but overall he isn't reliable for a title/CL pushing team. Think that is the fairest assessment we can give him.

May 31, 20233 yr he should be our player of the season, because no outfield player deserves it after such a season i also don't remember him making any huge errors. It's usually a shot from distance where everybody automatically presumes he could have saved it Edited May 31, 20233 yr by azpi28

As much of an absolute w**ker he was in that cup final, I do respect the kids mentality. He got ripped to shreds by so many years ago and having to sit out for Mendy when he was getting all the glory at the time must have been difficult. Doesn't really seem to have deterred his confidence either, fair play to him. Still, I don't think Kepa is an elite keeper, but I don't think he's as bad as some say either. I'm not too worried about the GK situation as many others are, there are more pressing issues for us at the moment. Getting a new keeper can wait.

You're probably right about getting a new keeper will have to wait. But after next season, I think it's a position we must upgrade on. We simply cannot have a goalkeeper that doesn't have command of his area, he must be able to come and collect the ball from set pieces. For as long as we go without one, it will always be a weakness waiting to be exposed. Slonina is expected to come through in the next few years, but if he isn't the type of keeper who can come off his line and claim the ball from a corner, then he won't be the answer either.

Spurs and Leicester away were more examples of his weak wrists coming into play. That alone is 8 points since the world cup and that's without going into the long shots that were very possibly because his history with them encouraged the player.
June 1, 20233 yr How has a thread about the great Thiago Silva become a thread on the never been great Kepa? When folk start nominating Kepa for player of the season, it really hits home just how crap the season has been.

July 4, 20233 yr For everyone saying "Thiago Silva" ... surely we need a captain that actually speaks English and can communicate properly with the rest of the squad ?
