CST meeting in a nut shell;

They met the club on Thursday and insisted they released a full explanation & apology to the fans hence the open letter from the club.

They felt while explaining the situation it still lacked a proper, heartfelt apology.

Going forward they’d expect a proper relationship with the club rather than box ticking meetings and they’d like some sort of fan representation at board level.

There’s going to be a vote over the next few days on whether to issue an official rebuke of the clubs actions.

The CST want to seek some form accountability, a meaningful account of what the club intend to do to rebuild the trust of the fans and what measure are available to stop another attempt at doing something similar.

There’s a Q&A going on right now so if anything import comes up I’ll post it but it’s pretty much repeating what’s already been said.

Okay, this sounds like someone is telling porkies. While the EPL clubs are playing dumb and furiously backtracking to say they were pushed into a bad idea at the last minute, this article suggests that Guardiola had a frank discussion with the City board well in advance of City's exit.

I think the media teams will be in flurry of spin. I await Matt Law's exclusive insight into Chelsea’s doubts about the ESL to be detailed shortly.

This ESL is going to f**k us all, apparently it’s a binding contract, and the penalty clause is frightening, even if the amount isn’t correct, if we have to pay something, does Perez pocket this money?

If so Perez could of pulled the biggest con job ever, to pay RMs Debt?

I can’t claim to know but I think it’s very unlikely that there’s no way out of this and what we're seeing smacks of desperation on the part of Perez, and suggests it may be time to be shipping in🍿 for the implosion of Real Madrid soon! Given what Roman has seen and done to get where he is, I don’t think he needs to be scared of Perez and JP Morgan.

Interesting thread from the Swiss Ramble (a great source for football finances) about the financial incentives for the defector clubs:

"Of course, many of the financial problems are self-inflicted with most of the revenue growth simply going to higher wages, which are up £1.2 bln (60%) in 5 years from £1.9 bln to £3.1 bln."

What's the collective noun for a complete bunch of f**king muppets ?  An ESL ?

This is great and just what I was looking for. Thanks for posting.

With out a doubt it is players wages that will be the downfall of the current PL, without more outside revenue, which equates to more games having to be played by players to subsidise the huge amount spent on wages, Simon Jordan totally nailed it on TS this morning..

Perez better be careful if he is trying to pull a fast one on Roman. It could go bad for him !

The current system isn't perfect at all but the Super league was a terrible solution and the corruption that would be present with Perez at the head of the whole thing... Just a couple of people would be getting all the money.

There is some speculation that the 83m saved will be provided to the football league to assist clubs that are in need of financial help following the pandemic. Hopefully that will happen. The Premier League clubs do not need this additional windfall.
