Silva looks like he's headed to Barcelona if they could magically resolve their wages issue. Maybe Mahrez or Sterling are swapped for Kane?

Would Mahrez and Sterling downgrade at this point in their careers though? Mahrez just had his best season since his title win with Leicester, and Sterling is just entering his peak years. I can't see either of them going to Tottenham.

Harry Kane is allegedly a no show for Spurs today which was supposed to be his first day back.

So looks like he is going to force an exit from the club... Would love it to be us to sign him but no way that's going to happen so likely that he'll end up at City if anywhere.

Just got back from the pre-season Leicester - Villarreal game. Generally a party atmosphere, a mixture of people being grateful to be back watching live football, Leicester looking very good, and players like Harvey Barnes being back. Plus I went with a Man Utd fan, which gave me plenty of opportunities to make hilarious comments about 'checking out the other European champions', the Europa League Final, and as a bonus pointing out that Ryan Bertrand was the only player on the pitch with a Champions League medal (every time he did anything).

Unfortunately the party atmosphere was totally deflated after about an hour when whoever Villarreal's #34 was scissored Wesley Fofana by the halfway line. I have no idea exactly how bad it was but his foot seemed to be dangling from his leg at a perverse angle and he was immediately stretchered off. The chanting might have got quite nasty (and probably racist) had the Leicester fans (who are as typically uncultured as the majority of English people) been able to come up with anything more creative than 'you can shove your paella up your arse' (and the odd yell of 'you Spanish c**ts').

Note 1 - It reminded me of the aftermath of the Euro 2020 final (which I watched in my local) which was capped with a very similar 'you can shove your Colosseum up your arse', followed by 'you can shove your carbonara up your arse'. Great inventive minds went to work (on their mobile phones mostly) in the meantime while different Italian foods were substituted for 'carbonara' (and my interjection that English people put cream in their carbonara and therefore don't know what they are talking about fell upon deaf ears). The magnum opus: 'you can shove your Leaning Tower up your arse'. Who can honestly say that we don't make the most of the language of Shakespeare?

Note 2 (for fantasy football players) - Bertrand took all of Leicester's set pieces before being subbed off and eventually got an assist for Söyüncü from one of them.

I applaud your efforts. Carbonara ala lazy English bastard is either just a bucket load of cream or a béchamel.

There was a nasty injury for Fofana for Leicester the other day. My opinion on this may be a hot take to some, but I'm sticking by it, I thought it was entirely his fault.

For a few years now I have been saying that I am sick of players planting their leg or dangling their leg out to win a free kick or penalty. It's cheating in my book, but attacking players have been getting away with it for a while now. I remember when Suarez bought it to light in the Premier League and he was always called a cheat for it and it was often criticised on MOTD, Sky Sports, Talksport, etc. Now though, they say nothing, it's just accepted for some reason.

Now I am seeing people call for the Villareal player to be banned for breaking Fofana's leg. It was a clean and fair tackle, but Fofana recklessly plants his leg between the player and the ball and we all know what is going to happen to a planted leg in that situation, it's going to snap. Fofana can easily avoid breaking his leg if he doesn't try and force contact.

An injury like this was going to happen eventually. I remember Abraham getting injured against Newcastle for doing this last season, he was just lucky he didn't get injured as bad as Fofana.

Interesting article on why Messi couldn't stay at Barcelona, even if he wanted to play for free.

And it gets even worse for Barcelona. They have just signed Aguero and Depay, but neither of them can be registered to play because of these wage rules in La Liga.

What an absolute mess Barcelona have gotten themselves into.

Hard to have too much sympathy for Barca but the previous board really f**ked them over.

It will take many many years for them to recover, I’d have thought, and I can’t see them being in the market for big signings any time soon.

They are a people’s owned club so I don’t know what the chances are of a buyer being acceptable, very slim I’m sure.

Are the members responsible for the 1 billon € dept?

Some compromise will be found yet agree desperate times for the Catalonian club.
