June 16, 20224 yr On Barca’s debt. On the one hand inflation will lowere its value long term. Shorter term though the interest cost on it’s going up a lot and that will be reflected in any refinancing.
June 16, 20224 yr We're not going to fully commit to buying a player that's due to have an operation that has any chance of complications no matter how small. More than likely this deal is virtually done just waiting on a successful operation. Just as the Dembele one is probably complete we just need to wait for his contract to end with Barca at the end of this month. So to the doomsday theorists there's a chance we could already have 2 transfers in the bag and currently working on the next. The media is probably feeding off the current fan melt down by reporting all our targets are going elsewhere for the extra clicks, but at the end of the day if a player doesn't want to come here then screw 'em.

I get your point, but other clubs have already announced signings of players that are out of contract at their current club. Madrid + Rudiger, and Spurs with Perisic and Forster.

For those talking about what they saw of him this season and him not looking as interesting or making a few mistakes. Remember most players who are denied their dream move drop their level the following season psychology plays a big part in football. Don't be concerned guys, unreliable sources will say just about anything during the transfer window. Deals take time as of today according to my most trusted source Kounde remains set for Chelsea, whilst we are in continued talks with Sevilla. Fee shouldn't take too much longer now that he has undergone successfully surgery. Imo we were waiting for him to undergo it before commiting such a significant transfer fee. Please remain patient and trust the process Can't tell if your being serious or not? LOL. And second part I highlighted is true. Look at Kane early stages of season. Also Tielemans has been criticized by Leicester fan this season, but he is a top player. Thing with Kounde is, I haven't watched him too closely this season but his defensive stats are good on reading and did he not get in La Liga team of the season?

I'm being serious mate, if you think Kounde was good last season I don't disagree, I was speaking to anyone that felt he wasn't that good. He did drop his level slightly which is fair enough. It's very hard to handle having your dream transfer fall through after your club promised they wouldn't stand in your way. I'm just providing updates from what I believe to be a very trusted source. Only time will tell but I am very confident we sign Kounde and Dembele at the very least this summer. Very important to understand whilst we are working on signing players, the Lukaku situation has taken priority, once this is sorted one would hope our window will spark into life.

And Marina has already shown she's mentally incapable of processing 2 transfers at once. Or Kounde would have been here before last season started. Alas she wanted to get an extra £12.50 from West Ham for Zouma so she missed the deadline Sevilla set.

So all the scouts, the manager, owners, directors, board members are coming up with amazing transfer suggestions and incredible diamonds in the rough only for Marina to over rule them and buy Danny Drinkwater. Or is it only her that sets out player targets, the transfer budget and player valuations? In one hand she's haggling too hard the next she's over paying, but only when it suits your baseless none factual opinion of Marina. Do we really need you to keep repeating it on every rumour? I agree we need to improve our recruitment but that's not down to one person and won't be solved over night.

Marina being abysmal at negotiating has nothing to do with scouting or the targets selected.

Her record in failure speaks for herself. The transfers she's failed to get over the line, the fees we've paid for the players we've signed while she was negotiating (how often do we sign a player for what looked like a good fee prior to them playing for us? The ridiculous contracts she offers players meaning we find them impossible to shift because Marina chose to pay them 100K more than they could earn anywhere else ) I genuinely don't understand how the small selection of Marina cultists can look at her record and just try to pretend she hasn't done an abysmal job. She's single handedly destroyed our defence, as Rudiger said he'd still be here by now if Marina didn't stop negotiating with him for no reason mid season. Edited June 16, 20224 yr by HazardousChoice

Which transfers has she failed to get over the line, Kuonde? As for players looking like good deals prior to playing for us that's got nothing to do with her it actually shows she's done her job, she doesn't scout the players. They looked like great deals because Marina negotiated a deal that was around market value or better, the problem was the people suggesting the transfer. Everyone was over the moon when we bought Havertz, Zyiech, and Werner now Marina overpaid. Maybe the scouts and people recruiting players need do a better job, Marina isn't exactly going to turn around and say I'm not buying him he's sh*t.
June 16, 20224 yr It is being reported on ABC Sevilla that Chelsea will secure Kounde as we are offering "an astronomical salary proposal" that is 2 to 3 times the salary that Barcelona can afford. This leaves two hurdles left to overcome, one of which is the fee that Sevilla require. The other is that he must pass a medical so soon after recent surgery.
June 16, 20224 yr Can we lock this thread until this dwarf signs with either Barcelona or us? Genuinely getting sick of hearing his name this past year.

If so then we need to reduce the offer pronto.

We never learn, we just keep throwing money at players. Quietly Liverpool have signed a RB backup for Trent at £6.5m, that is two fullback backups (Tsmikas) for under £20m.

We could learn nicely by having Maatsen and Sterling back up Chilwell and James and they are free.

The point is the deals did not look like good fees prior to the players signing for us. Marina didn't scout dross like Bakayoko, Pulisic, Kepa, Drinkwater, Zappacosta etc but when you look at the ridiculous fees they cost did anyone think they looked remotely good value at the time? Werner is probably the only signing we've made in the last 5 years that I felt we got a bargain price at the time it was announced. Marina constantly overpays for every player we go after then gives the players such ridiculous contracts we struggle to move them on if they do flop. How a guy not good enough to play for Dortmund who had 1 year left on his contract cost us 58m and got 150,000 a week I'll never know. Marina must be getting kick backs.
