This never was a fair business or competition, Barcelona knows no boundaries when they want to secure a player, they do everything... So The basis for our dealings should now be set. Chelsea should end this immediately by withdrawing their offer. Done. If Barcelona can't come up with the readies, tough. Then with regards Gvardiol, get the package sorted which should be what they want, no faffing about, make the offer, tell the club, player and agent they have 48 hours to accept or the deal is off, no exceptions, end of.
July 21, 20223 yr I honestly hope Barca go under and never return. I hate that club so much! Bidding for and trying to buy players with money they don't have, when they can't even pay their own players the money they contracted them to. Such a scumbag club living off their past.

July 21, 20223 yr I assume Kounde's name will imminently change by a few letters on this site, assuming all these Barcelona rumours turn out to be true 😉

We've looked clueless and desperate this entire summer. This is bang on and naivety in the extreme. If the opposite scenario had occurred and Marina was the incoming, she would have let him have the window, pretended it was all a team effort and then bombed him off after. For a businessman of such high standing I have been quite surprised with the transfer dealings in this window. They all think his a nice bloke though, so that's all good then.

July 21, 20223 yr Come on @JM7 has Ben Jacobs or the like reported Kounde has told us to do one yet? Also where is @LongtimerLurker and his inside sources.

July 21, 20223 yr Sorry guys I’m off. Been great supporting Chelsea all these years, but I’ve just got an offer from Barca to be a supporter. They said I just need to wait for them to activate a 3rd shaft or knob or something like that.
July 21, 20223 yr Actions speak louder than words - on face value, now traveling to meet up with the Sevilla team is all we need to know. Put a deadline on it and move on.
July 21, 20223 yr After successfully luring #Raphinha and #Kounde from under #ChelseaFC noses #FCB are growing confident of convincing #Sterling to tell Chelsea he has changed his mind, no longer wants to play for them and wants to be allowed to Join Barca on a pay as you go basis. Via @JacobsBen 😉

A summary of our defensive pursuits - We're tracking Kounde for more than a year and he too wants to join us but we are unwilling to pay the asking price. Then suddenly the Kounde trail goes cold and we are interested in signing MDL. He too wants to join us but we are again unwilling to pay the asking price. We then try to make it a player plus cash deal but Juve want a straight cash deal. Bayern come along and turn MDL's head. We panic and offer what they wanted but it's too late now. When we realize that MDL won't sign for us, we are forced into panic buying Koulibaly and we have to thank Napoli for that because they probably hate Juve more than us and don't want to strengthen them. Thankfully the deal happens before Juve can intervene. All the while we're sleeping on Kounde but he still wants to come to us. In the meantime we want Ake and apparently agree personal terms with him. But suddenly City realize they want 50 mill for him. The deals falls through and City are happy to keep him. And Kounde is still waiting.... Now we turn our attention to Kounde but we still don't want to pay what sevilla wants. And then we see barca turning Kounde's head and we panic and finally offer what they want. But is it too late now ? Klopp and Guardiola would be laughing their asses off. Pretty much my feelings on all this as well. Kounde may still happen or might not now, but I’m amazed this has dragged out for a whole year. From his point of view he’s been messed about so probably wants to get this protracted transfer right. It looks pretty chaotic as a Chelsea fan so other fans must be having a good old giggle at all this. The irony is one of the deals where we was quick to agree a deal with club (Leeds and Raphina) it turns out we couldn’t convince the player. Whether we approach the player first or the club first the second part we have struggled to wrap up, other than Sterling and Koulibaly. We still need to sort out that attack IMO as even if we get Tuchel’s defensive targets we still have the the problem at the other end of turning 1-0 leads into 2-0 or 3-0 victories like City or Liverpool would. I hope Tuchel’s master plan isn’t to try and win 1-0 every single week or he’s in for some more frustration. We are more likely to draw 1-1 every week with this attack as it is presently. July 21, 20223 yr Chelsea continue to push very hard for Jules Kounde. Sevilla are still without news from Barça. Faro airport is very close to the Sevilla camp with a good connection to London. - @relevo
July 21, 20223 yr Barcelona’s second lever has been activated (RAC1) #FCB Sounds like Barca have sold more of their future to secure Kounde.
July 21, 20223 yr Personally I would not blame Kounde if he decides not to come. I mean he was here in London taking pictures with fans ready for the move only to see us go about getting Sterling and Koulibaly and then see us go for and miss out on Raphinha, De ligt, Kimpembe, Ake and only then go back in for him.
July 21, 20223 yr Does sound like we’ve been abit naive in this window. We were behind other clubs given the situation but given how close some of them were, we should have nailed them down abit quicker. It’s starting to feel like this one is over.

Yeah seems like a panic buy after not landing our first choice targets. Hardly gives the right impression
July 21, 20223 yr Imagiine being one of the most talented and in demand youmg centre backs of your generation who has been arguably the best defender in Spain for 2 years and deciding to join a club that considered you a back up to a bum like Ake. If I was Kounde I wouldn't sign for us either.

Hardly gives the right impression I mean if we take aside our club bais and pretend this does not involve us. One club has targeted at least 4 other CBS before you and made 2 attackers higher on the priority list than you and only come in for you AFTER being turned down by 3 others in your position. That is after you showed up in their city and pushed hard for this move last summer and this one. The other club is mortgaging their future to secure you, along with a player like Lewa, because their manager is a huge fan of yours. I know which sounds more flattering.

Lol I mean even if it was all made up, that premise has a lot of truth in it, he could have really learned a lot from those two. Let's say just for the sake of it, that the reality is towards him wanting to learn something from the Barcelona "old guard" defenders... Kounde thinks it's actually really nice to just be rubbish for years and still keep his place in the team like Umtiti. Or maybe he prefers to learn from Pique how to cheat on his future wife? The rolemodels he can choose from...
