We did everything, they just didn't want us to get the player and he himself is willing to wait for the final seconds in order to go to Barcelona so those things have very little to do with us it's just how some people like Monchi and Barcelona operate...
July 21, 20223 yr We said weeks ago to fck this clown off. The club is making itself look stupid pandering to these sub standard weak footballers and the poisonous agents. We should only talk to players that want to come here. Any whiff that they are looking elsewhere we should end it immediately

Kounde has now traveled to join the team, amid Sevilla wanting this settled by today. Put 2 and 2 together. He’s another rat just using us for Barcelona ala Raphinha. I doubt Sevilla don't want us to get the player, in fact I think it's the opposite. Our offer is better than anything Barca could or would come up with and Sevilla probably would prefer to sell Kounde abroad instead of strengthening another La Liga club. It's the same story as Leeds/Raphinha, they would have preferred our offer but in the end the player only wanted to go to Barca. If the Catalans manage to pull the same stunt with Kounde I have to say we will look like mugs yet again. Normally I don't wish anything negative towards other clubs, it's just football at the end of the day but Barcelona's way of doing business is classless. They tapped up Christensen after he verbally agreed a new contract, dragged Rahinha saga for months, now manipulating the Kounde situation. Yes, it's up to players whether to go along with these schemes but the whole thing is just cringeworthy. The thought that our captain is moving there shortly makes it even worse. It’s an absolute miracle we managed to get Koulibaly and Sterling at this rate.

Thanks for sharing that. There’s plenty of reports doing the rounds that he’s happy to join either Chelsea or Barca and has already agreed personal terms with us. Seems Sevilla still prefer to sell to us currently due to us actually having an offer on the table. Doesn’t seem like Barca are willing to match our bid. Still legs in this yet I think.
July 21, 20223 yr Jules Koundé showed up at 6:30pm and voluntarily traveled with Sevilla to Portugal. Has his transfer to Chelsea gone to waste? NO. Sevilla and Chelsea now exchange documents. The player wants to wait for news with the team and not train alone. - @butacondelgarci

July 21, 20223 yr “Uncertain hours around Koundé. The player wants to come to Barcelona. For Xavi, he is a priority, but the information coming from Seville is that the center-back has a foot and a half in Chelsea.” (Catalunya Radio) #CFC #FCB #SevillaFC

July 21, 20223 yr Jules Kounde has agreed terms with Chelsea for a 5-year deal. However, Barcelona have urged him to wait for them. But some have questioned whether Barça have the funds available after signing Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. - @JacobSteinberg Hmm…
July 21, 20223 yr I don't see him coming. He wouldn't have gone to Portugal if he was close. Barca will come up with an EMI scheme matching our number and he will go there.

This whole “doesn’t want to train alone” is a smokescreen given just days ago he said he’d join Chelsea if the offer was made, which is has already.
July 21, 20223 yr We’re embarrassing ourselves here. Just set a deadline and walk away. We’ve been there a week negotiating apparently. I thought tapping up was banned, what a joke
July 21, 20223 yr Ben Jacobs update a few moments ago: Kounde open to both moves and a lot will come down to player choice. Chelsea’s personal terms are more preferable and it still remains to be seen if Barcelona can match Sevilla’s valuation. Next 24 hours are key. Sevilla have always said they will listen to Barcelona if a bid is made quickly. #CFC have not wavered in their confidence because they know Sevilla’s preference is to sell to them. But Kounde travelling with the team is not what Chelsea wanted.

From what I saw last year and now, Monchi has shown absolutely 0 compromise towards our club, absolutely no signs of anything close to a normal business relationship it's all just cold. On the other hand, Barcelona is given a real chance and they are taking it. I mean if it was the other way around, if it were Barcelona openly wanting the player first for a whole year, we would have 0 chance of entering the race right now at the last second for that same signing. Barcelona just has their way of doing things and it's really classless like you say... Kounde ending there it could be another one of those "be careful what you wish for cause you just might get it" stories because he was a perfect fit for us while on the other hand Barcelona is a loose cannon these days, he could very easily regret joining them.
July 21, 20223 yr It’s done lads. Barcelona wanted Kounde to travel with the rest of the Sevilla team to Portugal, which now counts as a very significant gesture from the player. Chelsea not too happy with the decision. @gerardromero #Transfers https://t.co/AblHKCeGpM

July 21, 20223 yr Barcelona have been incredibly classless during this whole thing, and if it was my choice, there is zero chance I would allow Azpi and Alonso to join them after all of this, but at the same time, we have only ourselves to blame. Kounde could have been ours last season, but we f**ked around until the last minute and by then it was too late. This season we have put off signing Kounde by chasing De Ligt, then Ake, then Kimpembe, before switching our attention back to Kounde. It's amateurish and just begging for somebody else to come in and make us look like idiots. If Kounde ends up at Barcelona, then I will have serious doubts about us making top 4. Our attack is sh*t, even with the addition of Sterling and our defence will be weakened if we can't replace Christensen with somebody better.

Sometimes it's not you but the other guy you're trying to deal with, no wonder we wanted to keep looking at some other potential options, Monchi has been full of it and it would have been strange if we hadn't all things considered but even so the club has never stopped trying to make this transfer happen. This is also funny because in a normal world one of the most important people in Sevilla would never ever want to entertain the idea of selling his defender to Barcelona they that had trouble in their defense and what not are going to strengthen from a La Liga team, as if Liverpool would ever sell their own most talented defender to us! But sadly in the world we live in only God knows just how much is given under the table and how those people make their deals...
July 21, 20223 yr Boehly new statement : "Actually the meal and food weren't great ... they were f**king sh*t ... "
July 21, 20223 yr If we do not sign him, it's entirely on Chelsea. My god, If Kounde ends up at Barca then they have well and truly mugged us off this window.
