If last season is anything to go by for getting match day minutes Sarr is the bar.....!!!!!!!!!

Let's keep Colwill in the squad and loan Sarr out

Sarr got just over 1,500 minutes last season, I highly doubt Colwill will be happy with that.

That's why it's a pretty pointless comparison, one is happy to exist in the squad and be grateful for whatever he's given, the other isn't.

We play what, 2-3 games a week now with the World Cup congesting the season?

There is going to be so many opportunities for him, whether its Koulibaly shifting over to play sweeper with Silva resting, or when Koulibaly himself needs a rest. Colwill could realistically get 35-40 games all comps this season.

Or Sarr was given the opportunity and consistently failed to deliver and secure a more permanent place. Chalobah on the other hand clearly impressed if Tuchel is reportedly stating he may be a starter for the new season. If we are now assessing Colwill to see whether he should be in the squad, I am saying that he should be taking Sarr's place and be given the opportunity to get more than 1500 minutes. He hasn't got to be as good as Rudiger or even Christensen. Just be getter than Sarr to get into the squad. Then it us up to him

Sorry for the lack of updates!!

Second half of the season he was unfortunately struck with an Injury which kept him out for a while. He came back strong again though and played in the playoffs.

Selling him would be a huge mistake, and I would be gobsmacked if this is what you're planning on doing. I think with the signings you have made it may be difficult for him to break through this year? But surely either a Premier league loan or a year learning from silva would be the better option. I really do see this lad becoming a star, and to not give him that chance would come back to haunt you.

To top it off he's a cracking young lad too, and we cannot thank him enough for the season he has just given us. You really do create some decent young footballers.

I'll keep a keen eye on him moving forwards, I can see him next to koulibaly as Silva's replacement next year

Good luck with the new season, glad the ownership issues have been resolved!!

No ill feeling for the own goal that cost you the playoff final then?

Absolutely not, without him in the first half of the year, maybe we would have achieved less points and wouldn't have even been there. Our squad massively over achieved this year, and he was a huge part of making that happen.

Kids make mistakes, and he couldn't have picked a bigger game to do it, but I'm sure he will use it to his advantage and will have gained a massive amount of experience from it.

Anjorin I don't think will make it in the big time, he showed some promise, but Levi is just on a different level (different positions I know).

Yeah Tino had some promise but has stalled past 2 years. Big year for him to make an impact wherever he ends up.

It's difficult to provide that critical game experience for young defensive players - particularly centre-backs - as inexperienced players will obviously naturally make mistakes, so that combined with them occupying a defensive position on the pitch means the risk of them committing a calamitous mistake is greatly increased.

Therefore, for a young defensive player to get the game time they require for their development, they have to reach a far higher level respective to the rest of their team's quality than young attacking players do, so that the risks of them making a mistake are outweighed by the benefits their overall ability brings.

As a result, it's simply the nature of the beast that the likes of Tomori, Guehi and Colwill have to drop to a level below that of Chelsea's in order to get the time on the pitch they need.

It may later hurt to see them doing well at a different club to ours, but the fact is that if we had kept them here then they would have been far less likely to realise their full potential anyway.

Several clubs are in for him, the old regime would of sold him most likely as they did with Tomori & Guehri both full internationals now since leaving. If he stays depends upon not signing another CH and havent see any of him except the playoff final where he OG but he’s got to be an improvement on Sarr who has no clubs in for him as far as we know. I’d like to see him stay bc he’s one of our own. Plus he’d generate 20 mill not a lot really when he has so much potential allegedly

The manager confirming Colwill will have the pre-season to confirm he's good enough to be in the squad this season already.

How can he not have seen him.. he is one of our biggest prospect coming through.. I find this a lazy answer.. Fergie used to be a regular at youth games, i think TT also needs to start watching some of our youth.. unless he believes his role is only that of a first team coach and not CFC manager..

We have seen an exodus of potential under his watch.. while giving game time to Saul, chasing average players or players we didnt need.

That's not what he's saying. He says he hasn't seen enough of Colwill. I suppose he also has to see him train with his (hopefully) future teammates, the way TT wants to play this season.

If only he had a good chance lately to play him, maybe in a friendly or something.....

Colwill would probably have played 45 minutes against Club America, had he not had a groin injury ... hopefully he is now fit for the game tomorrow against Charlotte FC.

Why hasnt he seen enough of Colwill - he has played a full season at the championship level. I am assuming same with the case with Koulibally before signing. He would have relied on tapes.. i just think you need to have lower bars and actively push homegrown talent in a club as compared to expensive flops.

I really dont see the hype about kimbepe - rarely wins a header is rash in decision making and full of mistakes.. A Guehi/Tomori could have easily replaced him.

And now he needs some time to make sure Colwill can handle the very top level in European football with the Premier League and the Champions League. Which is something entirely different than facing Championship-level attackers.

What's so hard to understand about that?

And no, we shouldn't lower the bar for anyone. We are a club with ambitions and it's up to the players to prove they are good enough for us. We are not going to lower the bar so that more youngsters can "make" it and then find ourselves competing with the likes of West Ham for the Conference League.

And Musaila, Lamptey and Tomori left under Lampard's, CHO within touching distance too, never saw close to the same energy here then.

The narrative Tuchel has agenda against youth falls down at the first sign of scrutiny. At the absolute least we are going to have 5 U23 academy graduates in the squad next season, how many clubs (especially ones with pressure to win) can match that?

The step up from Championship level to Premier. League is massive. You can’t make the same amount of mistakes and get away with them…hence a lot of promoted sides struggle initially. The step up from lower Premier League to top 4 is similarly massive. It’s asking a lot of the kid to make the jump, he will need careful nurturing and hopefully in a couple of years we will have a top class young centre back in the team.

Only Tomori could have been stopped from leaving. Musiala changed agent who pushed him out of the club, Lamptey wanted to leave and wouldn’t renew his contract.

I do agree but that's also part of the point, most of the players that have left under TT watch couldn't be stopped either yet it's still fuelled this ridiculous narrative he's anti youth.

Why you gotta bring up facts and sh*t?

Perfect chance for some to complain and you gotta come here and destroy their argument just like that...
