Btw I completely agree with what you said. The success of borja, gallagher, guehi, tomori, tammy, livramento make our youth realize that they belong in top flight football and it does not have to be with us. They can have success elsewhere. 

Gallagher is going to play for us this year.  None of the other names have been successful at a CL chasing team. Some of those names were turfed out by Frank. 

Colwill is going to either be a successful player at Chelsea or another Ake. Broja was blocked from moving by Tuchel. 

The policy is striking the right balance for me.

Personally I wouldn't be giving TT a big pat on the back over the Broja saga. To me it came across that he was alright with him being moved on, but then various factors kicked in that made him and the club do a swift U-turn. Namely, turbo Timo throwing his toys out of the pram and wanting to leave, no viable striker replacement on the horizon and the amount of potential suitors who stepped forward and were interested in taking Broja from us.

I think it has been a case of needs must for now, rather than a certain sign of faith and belief in Broja.

Well he said after the match that he choose experience because of the short turnover of the manager situation and he's backed that up with actions as Mount has started pretty much every game of note ever since (despite an array of expensive attacking toys avaliable in the same position). Infact has he even been dropped once since then? Rested yes but I can't recall one instance of him being dropped and there was pockets of spells last season where he could have had no complaints if he was (and i say that as someone who's been a card carrying fan since he was 17).

Regarding Hudson Odoi and Christensen the former started more league games in Tuchel's first month than he did Lampard's last year. I dread to even think the comments here if TT refused to select Callum even when there was no other natural winger avaliable. The latter barely played under Sarri due to his lack of rotation and was 4th choice under Frank, it was Tuchel who revived his Chelsea career.

Boehly have just confirmed Carney Chukwuemeka is part of Tuchel's plan this season already as well so he's staying with the first team too.

So that's at least Gallagher and Carney and probably Broja thats staying. Two academy graduates and a teenager that the manager have found room for in his squad. You got to be kidding me if you can't be happy with that.

Or the Cucurella deal has fallen through so we are loaning Levi to get him regular PL minutes.

Perfect decision to loan Colwill and give Dave a contract extension.

So next year Colwill can come back and Dave can ride off into the sunset.

Brighton sign Colwill on loan from Chelsea

Levi Colwill has joined Brighton on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

The England under-19 defender had a successful spell with Huddersfield Town last season and will now spend the new Premier League campaign with Albion.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “Levi has enormous potential and has already shown his ability last season in the Championship and with England at various age group levels up to under-21s.

“I am really looking forward to working with him on the training pitch, and in matches over the course of the season. 

“He plays mostly at centre-back, but has also played on the left as a full-back, and he is a player who is comfortable on the ball.”

Made his debut appearance today.. hope he does well and starts soon!

Colwill has won more often at Old Trafford than we did in the last 9 years

Very glad we didn’t sell him. We would of looked very silly to sell Colwill especially given the lack of cb we have and the ages of them. Glad we actually think of the long term for once.

We will most likely need another cb next summer when silva leaves.

We'll most likely lose Silva, sell Colwill for £25m and sign Tarkowski for £45m.

Depends how you define top 4, but Potter will either be england manager or united/arsenal manager in 12 months time. My big worry with colwill is if potter leaves half way through the season. 

He would be my first choice if tuchel left.

Agreed about Potter. He is doing a great job at Brighton. While there is certainly less pressure there than at some of the bigger clubs, he has made great progress with limited finances. I think this could be a good loan for Colwill as long as Potter is there. I also agree that Potter would be a decent choice for us, if Tuchel leaves.

So what was the point in loaning him to Brighton if he isn’t going to play?
