To be honest I'm still in some sort of denial, as if waiting for all this Russian debacle to end and somehow the club stays or goes back to Roman's hand after all. Seeing Boehly there was just wrong somehow, even though it finally sets us back in track.

It was always a pleasure seeing his reactions and how he handled himself so I really really missed seeing him during our matches.

The way he's been treated the last few years was absurd imo and honestly he should've sold the club when the govt made sure he would never be able to go back into the country. It's awful that it had to end like this when we've been truly blessed to have had him all this period. I'll always associate the words "brilliant owner" with this passionate man, who always strives for the best even when everything and everyone is against him.

Thanks for everything, Roman! I truly hope you'll come back one day to see everything you helped to build as the club gets bigger and bigger! Sit back, relax and be so damn proud of your achievements. Always a blue! 💙

This is precisely how I feel. I'm really glad I have read your post as my own would have been very close to plagiarism. I really did think that there might be a chance that the Government might eventually hold their hands up and say that they could not continue with the Sanctions, due to a lack of concrete proof regarding wrong doing on the part of Roman. I know and accept that the source of his wealth is cloaked in darkness, but his use of it and now his willingness to give many Billions to Ukrainian Charities must count for something towards his exoneration.

So, Roman, if by some faint chance you are reading this somewhere at sometime, I would like to say my personal thanks. You helped me realise my dream ! I have been a Chelsea fan for 59 years, but truly did not ever think I would see them win the League in my lifetime. To have won it 5 times, together with 5 FA Cups, 3 League Cups, 2 Charity Shields, 2 Champions Leagues, 2 Europa Leagues, One UEFA Super Cup and ultimately the World Club Cup in your tenure means that I will die a very happy man. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for these wonderful 20 years and I pray that one day, you will be able to come back to Chelsea as our friend and Guest, having had all sanctions dropped and a complete pardon afforded to you by The EU and UK Governments. You are and always will be my Hero 💙

Statement from Roman Abramovich - best owner ever. No contest.

It has been nearly three months since I announced my intention to sell Chelsea FC. During this time, the team have worked hard to find the right custodian for Chelsea FC that would be best positioned to successfully lead the Club into its next chapter.

The ownership of this Club comes with great responsibility. Since I came to Chelsea nearly twenty years ago, I have witnessed first-hand what this Club can achieve. My goal has been to ensure that the next owner has a mindset that will enable success for the Men’s and Women’s team, as well as the will and drive to continue developing other key aspects of the Club, such as the Academy and the vital work of Chelsea Foundation.

I am pleased this search has now come to a successful conclusion. As I hand over Chelsea to its new custodians, I would like to wish them the best of success, both on and off the pitch.

It has been an honour of a lifetime to be a part of this Club – I would like to thank all the Club’s past and current players, staff, and of course fans for these incredible years.

I am proud that as a result of our joint successes, millions of people will now benefit from the new charitable foundation which is being established. This is the legacy which we have created together.

Thank you.

Roman

Thankyou Roman. The greatest football club owner there is ever likely to be. He may be Russian, but he has Blue blood and is one of us.  Thankyou for everything 💙

Don’t forget that brain cell vacuum that is Nadine Dorries.

In footballing terms its been fantastic under Roman. I remember the late 60's 70's and 80's when they were much much leaner times in terms of trophies. If we go a season or two without a trophy it would be unusual these days, but back then we were probably only a top 6 club with the odd relegation thrown in.

Its a big thank you from me - first signings i remember was Chris Garland and Alan Birchenall something like £100,000 back in the day, how things have changed.

Nadine Dorries....mmm she said "Chelsea were on borrowed time"

which

1. Proves she was party to sanctioning the club and fans not just the owner and 2. was a comment above her pay grade imo. perhaps now she should be on borrowed time🙂

Garland arrived about 4 years after Birchenall, but get your drift. Such different times.

From today's Telegraph

Roman Abramovich, the Russian oligarch and former Chelsea Football Club owner, negotiated humanitarian corridors out of Mariupol and other cities besieged by Moscow's army, a Ukrainian official has said.

David Arakhamia, a Ukrainian MP and head of its peace negotiating team, said that Mr Abramovich was pivotal in saving the lives of Ukrainian civilians.

"Most of the agreements were reached through him,” Mr Arakhamia told Voice of America in an interview. “He did a good job with regard to humanitarian corridors from Mariupol, Berdyansk, Zaporizhya, but could not help with the corridors from Bucha and Makarov, the north of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions."

Mr Abramovich has played the role of a go-between during the war, helping to organise peace talks in Istanbul in April.

He had not previously been named as helping to set up humanitarian corridors out of cities shelled by Russian artillery and then occupied by Russian soldiers.

In his interview, Mr Arakhamia does not make it clear if Mr Abramovich set up humanitarian corridors into Russia. There has been criticism that some Ukrainian civilians have been pressured into going to Russian cities against their will.

Russia is on the verge of taking the city of Severodonetsk, in the Luhansk region of Donbas, although there are still civilians hiding in the Azot chemical plant with Ukrainian soldiers.

Mr Arakhamia said that Mr Abramovich may be called upon to help set up another humanitarian corridor out of the plant. "As soon as the opportunity arises, I will definitely call Abramovich to protect Ukrainian interests,” he said.

Mr Abramovich, who sold the Chelsea Football Club this year under pressure from the Government, has not commented. He bought Chelsea Football Club in 2003.

Peace talks between Ukraine and Russia have stalled since the failure of the Istanbul meeting, although Mr Arakhamia did raise the prospect of them restarting in August.

Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy head of Russia's Security Council, responded through his Telegram channel that this was unlikely.

Bunch of w**kers the government are. Forced him out when he provided accommodation for NHS staff during covid, organising a tunnel for the Ukrainians to escape the war, and now having negotiated the British prisoners to be freed and greet them at the plane, providing them phones to ring their families. And the government thought he was a threat lol. Thick sh*ts, now we have f*cking yank owners. Thanks a bunch.

I will always maintain they would not have dared done so if he was Liverpools owner. They know if they did their fans would have hit their homes with molotov cocktails.
