He had tough oppo for a spot up front at PSG. Still started 13 times in his last season for 3 goals and 2 assists. The move away to Leipzig was sensible.

Amazing to see 7 years down the line, the amount of players in this game (including on bench, Mount, Ikone, Chalobah) whose career have taken off. Nkunku has had such a huge rise since then. I am sure he was considered a very good prospect, but I don't think anyone imagined him turning out to be a bonafide goalscorer. Interestingly this game, Yakou Meite was their best player. Not just the goal, but he caused us so many issues with his pace and power. I remember thinking this guy is really good. Now is at Cardiff but has for past 2 seasons or so been playing with Reading. These games were really fun to watch. Palmer had such a breakout season in this youth season, but his career didn't really hit off, but he was phenomenal. Edited July 22, 20232 yr by STATS

August 3, 20232 yr Checking the Chelsea news after waking up, the first thing I saw was the headline on Nkunku's injury Not again! Hopefully it's not serious, but which 18 year old have we bought to step in?

August 3, 20232 yr Is there one out here that isn't injury prone? At least if we have half a dozen injury prone strikers there is a small chance that at least one will be fit enough to crawl onto the pitch at any given moment. I'm not sure I can face another season without goals. Football without goals is nothing.

August 3, 20232 yr Author I'm sure it's nothing to worry about he'll be fine and ready for Liverpool.

August 3, 20232 yr I can't believe it. The absolute state of the pitch as well, I'm absolutely fuming.

August 3, 20232 yr Nkunku's injury was a result of a poor challenge by Hummel's. He carried on for 10 minutes but was taken off as his knee didn't feel right. He was spotted later in the match walking down the touchline. Hobbling a bit, but no crutches, so hopefully not a bad injury. Edited August 3, 20232 yr by Gordon Bennett

Injury nothing to do with the pitch. He was on the pitch post-match mixing with the lads, no crutches, so fingers crossed.
August 3, 20232 yr My fault. I named my EPL team after him - the appallingly named Nkunku's Kinky Kings. Sorry....
