When Tuchel was at PSG he had him playing as a wing back, not sure if France youth teams did the same off the back of that?

He had tough oppo for a spot up front at PSG. Still started 13 times in his last season for 3 goals and 2 assists. The move away to Leipzig was sensible.

He mostly started as a midfielder at psg.

he had a couple of start only on those 10 games and some of those were on the right wing due to mbappé and giroud playing upfront. The only game he started as a striker he scored a beautiful goal but the referee canceled it.

Just seen that he faced us in the 2016 Uefa Youth League final, small world!

Remember watching this game live. Was a very good game. Amazing to see 7 years down the line, the amount of players in this game (including on bench, Mount, Ikone, Chalobah) whose career have taken off. Nkunku has had such a huge rise since then. I am sure he was considered a very good prospect, but I don't think anyone imagined him turning out to be a bonafide goalscorer.

Interestingly this game, Yakou Meite was their best player. Not just the goal, but he caused us so many issues with his pace and power. I remember thinking this guy is really good. Now is at Cardiff but has for past 2 seasons or so been playing with Reading. These games were really fun to watch. Palmer had such a breakout season in this youth season, but his career didn't really hit off, but he was phenomenal.

Anyone heard how bad his knee injury is yet?

Will need a scan and such so won't hear until a day or 2. I'd oreoare for the worst tbh, our luck in that area is comical

Checking the Chelsea news after waking up, the first thing I saw was the headline on Nkunku's injury :steaming: Not again! Hopefully it's not serious, but which 18 year old have we bought to step in?

Is there one out here that isn't injury prone? At least if we have half a dozen injury prone strikers there is a small chance that at least one will be fit enough to crawl onto the pitch at any given moment.

I'm not sure I can face another season without goals. Football without goals is nothing.

Our striker curse never ends does it? Vlahovic now looks a must.

Kudus makes more sense. Nkunku can play winger, attacking midfielder and striker. Kudus can play the same positions.

Clearlake are probably lining up Mbappé as cover LOL

That would be a mistake on a  Lukaku level, the most toxic self opinionated dik with a circus entourage.

Yes to everything except Lukaku level, he'd at least stick the ball in the back of the net. But agree please no.

Nkunku's injury was a result of a poor challenge by Hummel's. He carried on for 10 minutes but was taken off as his knee didn't feel right.

He was spotted later in the match walking down the touchline. Hobbling a bit, but no crutches, so hopefully not a bad injury.

Yep. Injury nothing to do with the pitch. He was on the pitch post-match mixing with the lads, no crutches, so fingers crossed.
