How can we not, this isn’t PSG, United or Madrid we’re talking about. Juve will go where the money is, De Ligt still has 2 years on his deal. https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours-news/2022/7/7/23199111/matthijs-de-ligt-says-yes-as-bayern-munich-set-to-beat-chelsea-with-90m-bid-reports Apparently he has agreed terms with Bayern and Juve are set to accept their offer of 75mill euros up front with 15mill in potential add ons. Looks like we lost this one. However if he honestly wants this move then a real lack of ambition on his part and I am not so bothered then. Missing out to Real or City is one thing, but Bayern in that sh*tbox league, yeah right.

Why come to the most demanding league system in europe and join the team that is competitive and has its share of success but battles it out with other elite clubs when you can join the only club in a walking or now trotting league, save your body, still get all the money and guarantee yourself Champoions League shop window so you can prep for your next move, probably PSG. Bravo to this tweet. Absolutely spot f**king on. Another reason why I hate modern football and WISH my old man never got me in to the stunning game.

The one time we had a genuine chance, no Madrid to deal with, no City or PSG and Bayern decide to suddenly change tact and start spending huge money on one player. Just our luck, so disillusioning.

So these two deals have no relation to one another, the main reason De Ligt started to become hot & cold for Juve in the first place was due to being forced left. …. Ah well, just have to hope we can scout the next De Ligt but even that is a fallacy since the guy is only 22 years old 😅, in almost a decade he’ll still be hot sh*t, even after a 5 year deal with Bayern he’ll be 27 ffs. Is a shame I agree. I rate Colwill and Chalobah very highly though and hope TT develops them.
July 11, 20224 yr Looks like this one is dead in the water. Bayern officials in Italy to finalise it.

De Ligt will be Bayern's record signing then. They will try and negotiate a lower fee, to which Juve will look at us and ask what we will do.

The two clubs are still quite far apart in their valuation of the player. But talks will continue 🔥🇳🇱@goal — Romeo Agresti (@romeoagresti) July 11, 2022

July 11, 20224 yr Was hoping that De Ligt would end up in London. Given the amount of money Juventus want and Bayern's history of not exactly spending huge amounts of money to get their players, you can never say never. But, it sure does seem like he is headed to Bavaria Fingers crossed we are able to get the deal over the line without having to pay an astronomical figure
July 11, 20224 yr Think we will know by weeks end if we are still after De Ligt or not. Again, unless he specifically said its Bayern on nothing (only German media reporting this), we should be beating Bayern to a bid if De Ligt is indeed Tuchel's #1.

We had our chance before anyone else was involved and even the player apparently was up for it. That hung around for a week or more before Bayern even got involved. These agents are talking to us and then touting their players on to other clubs. It looks to me that we must be offering poor deals to them. Dembele was done and dusted and Barcelona were pushing him out the door. Then all of a sudden it turns 180 degrees.

Its curious that we are willing to shell out that much for a bench warmer but haggled over a few million for a top quality player like MDL and missed out.

It is becoming an ever diminishing list of 'wants' for us. Edited July 12, 20224 yr by TheCeleryKing
