If signing Ronaldo is something the club's leadership are taking seriously then that is reason to be very worried about our future. It's weird how much he has declined since last season, players gradually get worse with age but he's fallen off a cliff. Last season he scored 18 goals in a dreadful United team, whilst letting Bruno take some of the penalties. Had he been at City he would've most likely socred 25-30 and easily won the Golden Boot, which is insane for a 37 year old. This season he's been terrible compared to that. It might be a combination of his age + losing a child + being unhappy at the club and missing pre season, along with losing confidence after a goal drought, but he's been one of the worst forwards in the league this year. I was actually in favour of signing him this summer because under Tuchel we created far more chances than United did, our biggest problem was chance conversion (though we don't even create chances anymore under Potter these days). This season already feels like a write off so I wouldn't mind Ronaldo coming here but I can't see it helping much in football terms, unless he miraculously finds his form back, though he does tend to play a lot better in the second half of a season.

Come here to do what? He is aging, legs are gone but in his head he is still the best. His competitive nature means he will only be happy if the team is successful. He will be a disaster here, he is better off signing for a Benfica or Fenerbahce.

Yeah true, was hoping that he'd find his scoring boots again, because none of our other forwards haven't been able to for years

I have no problem with Ronaldo coming here if he is good enough to help us but he is not. I do not care about his interview, all I care is what I see on the field. Let's just be frank. He is not good.

November 15, 20223 yr This would be the epitome of short termism, with no end product, its a definite Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, At the same times Messi and Ronaldo has stalled, but Messi has re-invented himself as the best Midfielder ever, lol, something CR7 hasn't got in his locker
November 20, 20223 yr He's failed to admit the obvious decline in his game, He looks absolutely washed at this level. If we sign him the Club are stupid beyond belief.
November 22, 20223 yr You just know there’s at least a 50% chance this happens! At the start of the season I’d have said it may have been worth the risk, now he just needs to stay as far away as possible.

Have I missed something? De Bruyne's miles better than him, even Bakayoko looked good in the French league.
November 22, 20223 yr Will be livid if we are even considering this. His downfall at United on and off the pitch is everything we should steer clear off. f**k the commercial side of things Boehly. This move will be another disaster.
November 23, 20223 yr If he can still finish chances he might be exactly what we need in order to secure top 4 this season since nobody in our squad is a good finisher

November 23, 20223 yr I think he's coming to us, the messy 'divorce' from United cleared any fee we'd pay, so basically a free striker in Boehly's mind. Potter is Boehly's pick, I don't see him say NO to Ronaldo. He will score us some goals ( even a winner at OT), the challenge will be when Potter makes him playing LWB as part of the learning curve.

Don’t think he is crazy enough; because that will mean he doesn’t know anything about football, and just making it up as he goes. We already have Aubameyang & Broja on the books, signing a 3rd player to play 1 role is just madness.
