July 21, 20223 yr These rumours are again emerging, gaining huge traction, apparently between us and Atleti as the only ones in for him, and I very very doubt The CR7 will taint his RM legacy by joining their hated city rivals?

Sure why not. Would be funny seeing someone in are attack as annoyed with our attack as we are.
July 21, 20223 yr There ain't many more choices for a guaranteed goalscorer than Ronaldo in this transfer period. For one season it could be a good move, we waste too many chances, it would be nice to have somebody who can find the back of the net.
July 21, 20223 yr Unless Ronaldo has a reasonable release clause, can't see United let him go even if we are willing to pay. From their perspective, they rather let him rot on the bench than score 20 goals for the direct top 4 rivals.

I think it might be worth a cheeky tenner on Werner to win the "Golden Boot" this season. And if you want an insurance policy, place another tenner on Batshuayi.

What I want is to hear is TTS strategised philosophy from his lips, and when he glibly blames everyone but himself, but Thomassss it’s all down to you, and we are watching again and again

July 22, 20223 yr I'm sticking a tenner on both Werner and Batsman to not score 10 PL goals between them.

He is being shopped around by his agent but so far no club is willing to make any move. It is very simple. Commercially/financially he is is still one of the most famous around but he is on crazy wages. Football wise, he is 38 but he will score lots goals for you and be your top goal getter. It is almost a guarantee. However, you will play Ronaldo ball. So now all you have to do is put the negative (high wages, old, Ronaldo ball) on one side of a scale and put the good part (goal, commercial) on the other side.
July 24, 20223 yr After the performance against Arsenal and TT’s comments I have a bad feeling this will happen.

July 24, 20223 yr If everybody gets desperate late in the window and Utd are willing to take a small fee and Ronaldo is willing to take a huge pay cut then I wouldn't mind giving him a 1 year deal.
July 25, 20223 yr Ronaldo 'travelling back to Manchester for talks' Cristiano Ronaldo is travelling back to England for talks with Manchester United over his future, according to The Athletic. Ronaldo missed United’s pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia due to family reasons. But the 37-year-old is reportedly expected in Manchester on Monday. Sky Sports News understands United are not looking for a replacement and their stance is unchanged - that Ronaldo is not for sale. Ronaldo, who has been training away from the club, wants to leave United in order to play Champions League football.
July 25, 20223 yr Would love to do a poll to see everyone's view on signing him now after pre season. I'm more on the fence now than straight up no, which was my stance beforehand.

July 26, 20223 yr Still a NO. Pre-season is just pre-season. We are a little behind the curve, but that is because of the transition from the naughty Russian to the collective of yanks. That is just bad timing for the Club. This season we might catch up as the season will be interrupted in the Autumn for England winning the World Cup. 😁 Ronaldo is an awesome player. Seriously that lad is a pr1ck and creep and i do not like him very much - but he he is a truly great footballer. A few years back maybe, if we could have had him for 3-4 years, but now? Whats the point?

Whats the point? Agreed. He would bring some goals but at a big cost. Apart from the obvious financial side we would have to build our entire system around him for maybe one season. Then again could we make a bid for him so Barcelona will take the bait?

July 26, 20223 yr I am more leaning towards signing him than I was before. Just a question to put out there. Would you rather Ronaldo at 37 who's a gaurentee of goals to play in most big games and have Broja play in the cups and rotate. He will be here for 2 seasons max and potentially could help us achieve our goals of securing top 4 and working towards a title winning side. Then he steps aside and we sign someone new who's not an option on the market now. Or would you rather us spend 40+ million on a forward in the mould of Michy Batshuayi and take the risk of them being good. Then ship them out on loan for years and struggle to sell them. The more the window goes on and our options become limited I am more for signing him. I still can't believe why we didn't push for Gabriel Jesus. Edited July 26, 20223 yr by Sheva
July 26, 20223 yr I'm actually starting to come around on this. We desperately need somebody to score goals for us and Havertz and an inexperienced Broja, who didn't even reach double figures last year aren't the answer. Might be worth a punt... @Sheva I agree that Jesus would have been a shrewd signing. Edited July 26, 20223 yr by True Blue23
