He’s a dribbler and a combiner and likes to receive from the touchline not someone who’s going to run in behind and score goals. He’s more of a Di Maria type and as EBL (noteworthy football analyst) put it.. not elite, with us he’d be nullified a little as he’ll be relied upon for output; actually more suited at Arsenal due to their system.

We could be recruiting with James in mind. He likes to cut in from fullback/wingback positions so the more wide winger compliments that.

Although I would have liked to have given his natural partnership and understanding with Callum a consistent run out.

    I should sleep 😅, still in disarray over this one, as I had it in my mind Tuchel was actually going to change formation but this link has kinda blown that out of the water for me, as not convinced this is the right profile for us in comparison to Arsenal and their setup. We’ll see, as far as transfers go.. didn’t see this one coming at all. 

    I don't think Raphina is cheap. His price is way higher than what either Rennes or Leeds paid like nearly triple.  Dembele would have been wages only. And it uses a big part of the budget when we have to have at least two defenders.

    Not against the deal but just because we can spite Arsenal doesn't make it a good trade

    5 years on 300k a week is 76 million pounds as well so 

    without sign on bonus

    and he might be injured for 1.5 years of those 5

    i feel like this is more of a liverpool kind of transfer

    getting a top player that has already proven himself in the premier league 

    like they did with mané and jota 

    i just checked and we bought 3 players from the PL since 2016, all of them from Leicester

    Kanté, Drinkwater and Chilwell (2 of them turned out to be good players for us, Drinkwater was a madness)

    before that you had Loïc Remy from QPR, Begovic from Stoke, Mereilles, Torres and Benayoun from Liverpool, Moses from Wigan

    Hopefully we did not repeat what happen with ox. We had a deal done with arsenal but he didn't want to play as wb so we signed zappacosta.

    Yep. Although I hope this deal goes through, THIS IS NOT A DONE DEAL!. We have agreed a deal with Leeds and are in talks in his agent. Arsenal, or another club could come in, match the fee and still join them. Part of me worrying in because this happened with Oxlade-Chamberlain few seasons back when we agreed fee with Arsenal but he turned us down and joined Liverpool. Also Arsenal have more Brazilian influence/ Portugese speaking influence than we do. Hopefully he does want to join us but yeah, not a guarantee until player agrees himself.

    Honesty if this is pool, City, arse. This deal is done. The report of him not wanting to play as wb, Tuchel has used all his winger as wb at some point and ox experience worries me. 

    He is a good player, but Dembele was 1st on my wishlist, he truly is somebody you should not miss on a free. Think the Raphinha deal pretty much confirms we could not get Dembele to sign that contract. For whatever reasons. Gutted to be honest.
