Marc Cucurella

Can see this one happening, definitely not at £60m

Let's see how much below £43m we get this over the line for ... LOL

Gone to Real Madrid. Hopefully we rinsed them for some good money. Anything over 50M is a good deal, he was bound to leave anyway so hopefully it was to the highest bidder.

£43m total package according to Romano.

Looking forward to seeing who they replace him with. Got to laugh at Enzo “liking” Romano’s here we go post too.

Enzo liked the "Here we go" tweet and apparently has a strong relationship with Cucurella so would prefer to move to the same club if possible.

I’m indifferent about this (and most things Chelsea FC these days) but given we were supposed to be adding experience to the squad, we appear to have so far sold an experienced player and added at least three young inexperienced players from Strasbourg (at least one of them before Alonso had even been thought about).

So Alonso is ‘manager’ and we had finally identified the need for some players past puberty and with some experience of top level professional football?

Enzo can f**k off too.

So glad to see the back of this fundamentally flawed player, pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes with a purple patch of goals but more often than not disrupted most attacks by being in the way of the genuine creative players and was so suspect defensively, lunging in and consistently out of position.

Now announce Lewis Hall’s glorious return.

He came across as a good guy off the pitch and a defensive liability on it for me. Had a few good games against certain well-rated wingers but the number of goals we shipped down his side when he was out of position, or even in position LOL, turns those into an overall net negative in my book.

Good luck at Madrid - think he'll need it !

Imagine Alonso has someone in mind to bring in who will be an instant upgrade.

Ideally it is Lewis Hall as Newcastle must sell this summer. But my guess is it is going to be Hato for that role simply because we are restricted on the market and I do not see how we would invest a lot of money in that position as long as we have Hato who frankly was probably the only bright thing in this squad ever since Maresca left and really improved a lot.

I'm indifferent too. I think Cucurella is an okay player, not especially outstanding at anything so there is plenty to upgrade on, but at the same time, what I said would happen is now happening. The players are done with this "project" and want out. They got a sniff of Champions League football, we fell out of the Champions League, and now they are looking for moves out of the club. This almost never happened under Abramovich. Before we sold a player, we would get as much out of that player as we possibly could before letting them go. Now players going into their peak years are looking to get out.

Agreed but I also feel like people like him are part of the cohort that created this weak mentality culture that has been brewing for the last few years

I find it difficult to believe that Alonso wouldn’t want Cucurella to stay all things considered. Cucurella said he had positive talks with Alonso too.

This screams the table cloth being ripped from under Alonso. “He will get final say” my arse.

Look at the BlueCo briefings as we speak. Like f**king clockwork 😂.
