Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Manager

Featured Replies

Delighted for us and Potter with the win.

I took alot of positives from that game and i feel it could be our turning point, wouldn't be surprised if we end up fighting for CL.

Positives from Potter:

- Hall playing for the second game in a row instead of Cucurella, this shows character and cojones from Potter. Tells other players that if they dont perform he is not afraid to play youngsters.

- Chalobah playing at Rb instead of Azpi. I have being calling on Chalobah at rb for a long time and i thought he was decent not spectacular.

- playing a proper 4.3.3 system, although we were boring at times we were much more compact and allowed players like gallagher to play in their natural rhythm.

- finally, i noticed from the bench a togetherness as if we must do better. Also, during this time Potter never through the players under the bus, imagine if it was Mourinho, Sarri or Conte! I think thats a good thing because hopefully will be fighting for him to repay back the trust.

Overall cant wait for the Liverpool game now where they are doing terribly too and can be our proper turning point.

I think some injuries where a blessing in disguise for us, Potter gave Gallagher the trust after RLC had been injured and it's paying off. Gallagher by all means had a good last season in that system and I believe he will prove to be a good player for us.

Will be interesting to see how many more new players we bring in. Opta apparently put out a stat and said we've signed more players under Boehly than we have scored League goals this season (I'm assuming that's under GP, it could be total though including TT).

The squad will be bloated and we have to make some sales, so we will wait and see who goes. The first 5 maybe 10 mins of yesterday's game did show a glimpse of what we expected Potter's teams to be direct in your face attack, we looked to get the ball forward immediately and put them under pressure. That eased off during the game, will be interesting if after January we look totally unrecognisable in playing staff and playing style.

My only concern is Boehly made all these TT signings as far as we heard TT was in contract extension talks and then....so if all these signings are Potter's what will Boehly do if we don't improve he will have bankrolled two different managers teams in 6 months and we will be back to the exact same situation of having mismatched styles for any incoming coach. Unless all of these signings are in fact club signings hence the long contract length that theoretically outlives Potter's contract (providing we don't give him an extensions)

They are club signings. Potter is a part of the team.

100% at the very least 8-10 outgoings this summer.

Rightly so. My guess would be, Jorginho, azpi, Hudson Odoi, ziyech, Pulisic, aubemyang, loftus cheek, and i wouldn't mind if we sold Cucurella too.

2 wins in our last 10 games and you think we'll be fighting for the ucl? I love the optimism mate 😄 I would say give it a few more games before jumping to any conclusions.

Whether you were talking about fighting for top 4 or making a UCL KO run I think we should just look only ahead to the next game and take each game at a time. Liverpool will be an interesting game, both teams will fight because they're under pressure. I expect a scrappy affair.

Concerning Dortmund I'm not even looking past them yet, we need to be at our best in UCL ties, both away and home form hasn't been great recently so need to work on both, but especially home form for possible UCL ties we need to make the bridge a fortress again show what we're about on big European nights.

The team was really up for it. They know they are in a rut and we need to crawl out of it. If we have the same will like we did against Palace we at least give ourselves a chance in games. We will absolutely lose at least 5 more games this Premier league season. Our squad is in such transformation with 11 injuries and new faces...

We can't expect us to kick into a real gear. What we have right now that is constant is Kepa, Silva and Havertz. They perform in a good level. What we also have is 4-3-3 that we are fitting on.

Other than that I don't see things that are constant or same week by week. Zakaria was in that list but he got injured... surprise surprise.

Getting back James and Chilwell will transform us. We can move other pieces here and there but they will create us the goals. As do TAA and Robertson for Liverpool.

If we had Zakaria and Felix available for the weekend Liverpool game, I'd fancy us to turn them over. Yes, even at Anfield. Unfortunately we don't so I don't think we will. But looking on the bright side we are close (apparently), to getting some of our walking wounded back in the reckoning and when that happens I feel we really will see a big improvement.

Keep the faith people. Walking in a Potter Wonderland.

I meant the Champions league itself. With the new players signed plus hopefully james and chillwell coming back can give us a great boost not to mention that for some reason we seem to do better on cup competitions than the league in recent years.

I am trying to be optimistic as there is no point in mentioning our weaknesses anymore. Come end of the season i think the owners need to reflect if Potter is truly the man to take us forward.

I think we're getting smoked by Dortumund but yeah Champions League is our only chance for a good season at this point

Only trophy to play for and Top 4 at stake. Think the players will take it seriously.

I think Zakaria will have something to say about that if he is fit that is. 🤔

I do have some hope that MAYBE that Fulham game marked the low.

Things can change pretty quickly, at this stage of 2021 Atletico were probably licking their lips.

Sadly Kante has I think only averaged about 20 odd games per season over the last 3.5 seasons. That is hopeless really. Such a great player but just keeps getting crocked.

I would still make him a 3 year deal. Maybe we should pay him wages that help us cover his absence. We need him in those make-or-break games. There is still no one like him in the world. Not even close.
