This addresses the rumours we can only add 3 new players to our ucl squad for anyone wondering how we will manage to register all these new signings.

Guy on the left looks flabbergasted and clinching his fists absolutely disgusted with yet another loophole found by Boehly & co 🤭

Guy on the left is a Chelsea fan.

Haha is that so? I don't watch sky sports so not sure who he is, if you could enlighten me.

To me he looks absolutely stunned, maybe trying to hide his happiness then 😅

By scrapping a few players who were in the initial UCL squad? Jorginho is already out.

An injury prone Kovacic,

an injury prone Kante,

an injury prone Zakaria

an injury prone and average player in RLC,

These are Potter's CM options for the remainder of the season.

Good luck Potter...

Except that's not quite the scenario is it ?

Mount, Gallagher, Chukwuemeka, Santos (with work permit), Hall, Chalobah and James could all play CM as well as those you have listed.

We've seen Mount and Gallagher play in a pivot. They simply can't do it.

Carney is an attacking mid.

Santos I don't believe is ready and good performances in Brazil's second division or a U20 South American Championship won't convince me otherwise.

Hall is vastly inexperienced and it showed against Liverpool

Chalobah and James don't have the durability neither the tactical understanding to play in midfield, hence why 3 coaches now not once put either of them there bar Chalobah against Watford when we had no other midfielders. He then got injured moments later.

I thought we put this square peg in round hole ideology behind us? Why do we have this obsession of complicating football?

Decent bloke but writing on the wall. Not even a mad man like Todd will cut you slack after a half a billion spend.

You need to shape up or ship out. I won't bet my flip flops on you being in charge this time next year.

But what a ride for you, some cool millions in the bank and manager of one of the top clubs in the world on the CV.

Not bad GP, not bad at all.

No excuses now, surely. In one window, he's had 3 wingers, 1 midfielder, 1 future RB, 1 CB, 1 striker come in. Add to that, Felix has 1 game suspension left, Chill and Reece is coming back end of Feb.

Come March, the pieces would be 90% complete

Worth pointing out that Potter will, more or less, have to get another brand new team to work together than the one he had for most of the games before Liverpool.

Before:

Kepa

James/Dave/Trev

Silva

Koulibaly

Chilwell/Cucurella/Hall

Jorginho

RLC/Gallagher/Kova

Mount

Havertz

Sterling/Pulisic

Auba

After:

Kepa

James/Dave/Trev

Silva

Badiashile

Chilwell/Cucurella/Hall

Kante/Kova/Gallagher

Fernandez

Madueke

Felix

Mudryk

Havertz

6 starting line up changes alone imo.

Fit for a game doesn't mean much when it's his first game in months. We're better served if he's reintroduced slowly

We've given him Mourinho 2005 levels of backing this window. Surely we have to at least challenge for top 4 now.

If we don't... will it be the special one or the pooch?

It's way beyond the 2005 levels. More like the first three years of the Roman era put together ...

Tough job to keep everyone in the squad happy now, especially when they are all back from injury.

32 players in the first team squad, which means 12 won't even make the bench for PL games ... and likely half the squad don't get any actual playing time in any given week ...

I know 1 person that could keep a big squad full of egos happy enough to win a whole lot...

However the b list requires players to be at that club for 18 months or so

It's amazing how many journalists get it wrong.

Basically Badiashille won't be in the CL team.

Well I've backed potter all the way so far because of the injuries and the fact that most of our players weren't up to it but now there are no excuses, all the pressure is on him now to get these new lads playing and pushing for top 4 and the champions league.

Given a bit of time he will have us back to where we were, not only winning football but attractive winning football, I'm excited for next season and even more excited about the season after that..........................as long as we sort out the bloody fitness/medical team that is or else the only difference will be we will have different players on crutches!

I have supported Potter and will keep supporting him this season but I expect the improvement we have seen in the last couple of games to continue. And I think that we should be closer to the top next season than what we have been in the last few ones. With the level of investment and the potential quality brought into the team, top 4 should be a given and closer to first if not challenging.
