You have to remember he's still young, brand new team, a lot of pressure with the price tag. He can still come good, I've seen some good qualities from him to know he's not going to be some Bakayoko. 

Will he ever be as good as say Kante? Who knows, he's still early 20's and can definitely develop into a better player. One of his poorer performances though.

Personally, I think the midfield just needs gel more and it will get better over time. I'm not too worried about it. 

Players can’t get a chance to develop these days he didn’t ask to be sold for £115 give the player time to get into this mess of situation we are in.

I do wonder when Lavia returns does he take on the Makalele role and free Enzo and Caicedo more as double 8s?

Amazed at how he didn’t get sent off. Deserved to. Ridiculous giving away fouls like that on a yellow.

Its not like Pochettino can go to the owners and say "hey, that £116 million midfielder you got me, I need him replaced"

The owners will probably (and rightfully so in this case) be of the opinion that its the coaches responsebility to get top class performances out of the worlds most expensive midfielder and I can in no way shape or form imagine that they would accept it if Pochettino wanted to either move on from him or bench him.

The stats seem to back up the eye test with Caicedo. And he is a better player than performances here at our club have indicated. So that needs to change.

I think having Kantes experience has ruined Chelsea fans perception of what midfielder can do. 

Caicedo is very good, he is not Kante.

He's fantastic in the national team and was fantastic in Brighton. People need to calm down. 

He will obviously become a good solid player for us in the future but you don't pay £100m+ for performances in the future. 

I don't understand how he didn't get sent off but I am glad it didn't happen. 

Caicedo is a good player. Will become a great one.

Out policy is to loan youngsters out to develop.

Meanwhile, that Brighton  18 yo kid who scored against us, spent a short time in their Academy after they bought him before being ready for the first team 

That 17 Newcastle kid ( Lewis Miley) who played against us is straight from their Academy..

Meanwhile our youngsters out on loan are struggling to get game time at other clubs. . I know Academy players have come back from loans to become good, regular first team players for us, but it seems to be  a finger's crossed, big gamble policy at the moment

Our situation is different from the two clubs you mentioned had those clubs been sanctioned been put through the sh*t for the last two years then maybe comparing them would work but we are in a unique situation and the fact we are still competing is a surprise in itself.
We almost got out out of business by the UK Government, which other club has even come close to that.

I think fans really underestimate how much we have changed in two years it’s like a completely new club

Brighton send loads of young players out on loan too, Newcastle have young players out on loan, every team has young players out on loan. We also have young players in our first team squad, not sure what it is you are getting at here.

I don't disagree, so far if I was to round up all his performances I think he's been a 6/10, average. Impressed with his passing, not so much his defensive contribution which is really what we need more. 

No way do I think he's worth the price we paid and I completely understand why people expect instantly good performances for the price we paid. I'm just willing to give him more time first before writing him off as a dud or a flop. I wish he could come into the side and be as good as Kante off the bat considering he was double the fee. Although two key factors in this circumstance, Kante wasn't in his early 20's when we signed him, and despite the poor season we had under Jose he still walked into a much better side that went on to win the league. 

I'm hoping we see far better performances as the season progresses.

It wasn't dreamt up, that's what he cost and should certainly be a factor in assessing performance.

I thought the same but apparently he wasn't even booked. If you look at BBC or Premier League site 4 of our players received yellows and Conor got the 2 cards. Caicedo was not among those players. May explain why he continued to put in risky challenges.

Because you lot are judging a price tag with the return on investment being only 4 months worth of performances. We have genuinely one of the best young midfielders in the league for almost a decade and people are going well over board with criticism when in reality he hasn't really put a foot wrong bar West Ham (rushed in) and Forest.

I suppose what I'm frustrated at is seeing very young  players playing first team football within a short space of time without long loans to other clubs. And a 17 year old straight from Newcastle's Academy playing against us and getting an assist.. 

Meanwhile Santos goes to Forest and sits on his arse, and the  guy we loaned to the Dutch team gets a few minutes . 

Maybe we are no different to other clubs mate, if that's the case I stand corrected.

So did I. But I checked a few sources and there is no record of him receiving a yellow in any of the match data. Badiashile, Enzo, and Sanchez all received yellows. Brighton actually recieved more yellow cards than us in the end.

According to their data, Caicedo did not get a yellow.

 

For context, Kante joined Leicester at 24 years of age from Caen when barely anyone was aware of him. Caicedo signed for Brighton at 19 years of age and had been arguably Brighton's most important player since he joined them. He's just turned 22. The only people are questioning him now is because of his price tag, but that's not on him. We needed a midfielder like him after losing Kante and the owners did what they had to, to secure him.

Not really though, the price tag is just a part of the whole picture, a significant one but ultimately it comes down to how he has been playing so all factors are included there and I don't buy the age argument, Mount at 22 was a key player for us and everyone knew why.

Either way make no mistake, a player of such a price tag and reputation that Caicedo already had, needs to show what he can do. When Bellingham signed for Real Madrid while just turning 20, everyone there expected him to show why he was such an expensive signing and to shine and that's exactly what he's doing.

Heck I can make the argument that Kante's influence was seen very fast and Jorginho managed to imprint his style very fast as well, here we have Caicedo that is supposed to be this amazing defensive midfielder that so many have been shedding tears to have, and yet you don't see that much from him despite the fact that his partner is Enzo!

Poch already had a private talk with him because of his poor form so it's clearly not just a few people questioning him because of how much he cost.
