Cucerella is a disaster in waiting at CB

Auba maybe good on shot conversion but holding the ball up totally useless

Havertz at some point has to start producing or the bench beckons

Think players also guilty of thinking it would be easy, home crowd going quiet and then jeering their own players as they passed it backwards. That was the time to up the ante, go for the kill. Instead they just passed it around slowly and easily like we saw under Tuchel. Bailey hits the bar and suddenly home players and fans have some belief. A lot harder then to raise your game, change the momentum, not helped by potter’s team selection. 
Sterling is not a wing back…having two small left backs next to each other as Lcb and lwb is a disaster waiting to happen

Personally I think we have to compete better and be better with our control and passing. Other than Havertz who looks unfit to me, the other forwards haven't done anything particularly wrong, we just have no quality or movement in moving the ball up the pitch.

It's frustrating because I think the Villa defence could easily crumble.

I think the passing was more concerning than the system. The players were messing up simple passes and passing to open space when nobody was there. They just kept giving it back to Villa.

Chilwell on a yellow so I’d actually replace Koulibaly with him.

Well we were certainly second-best in that half. Villa had the greater quantity and quality of chances. Mount did well to capitalise on Mings' hilarious f**k-up but we are certainly lucky to still be ahead.

We don't seem capable of imposing any control on the game. Some of that is Villa pressing well, but a lot of it has come from individual mistakes and overall sloppiness. We are also not really getting the ball to the forwards (beyond the odd optimistic punt over the top) unless Mount wins it high up. Chilwell was getting quite a lot of space behind Matty Caszcykovski in the first 20 minutes, but our collective brains seem to be all but melting out of our ears. It does seem that Potter has recognised that things aren't quite right, if Loftus-Cheek, Mount and Sterling's positional swap in the last 10 minutes is anything to go by.

Considering how end-to-end and direct the game has been (plus the fact that we are actually ahead, even if it doesn't feel like it), it seems like a good time to bring Gallagher on to make a midfield three (with Loftus-Cheek sitting). It's a shame Azpilicueta is being rested, or I would want him on at wing-back too. We can bring on Koulibaly for Chilwell later in the half if Villa are still getting chances and we need penalty box defenders.

Good luck lads, we have to do better than that. I want Gerrard to get his P45 tonight.

I'd rather take Auba off instead of Kai. We need more intensity in this game and Auba ain't the man to provide that.

Without doubt  the worst 45min of football this season and that's saying something. Imagine we were playing someone decent. Horror show  

I’m unsure if the formation / tactics is as much the problem as some poor playing today. 
that said I’d change the lot. Get an extra body in midfield, and take off a nervy performer or two (mainly Cucurella, or perhaps Chilwell due to yellow)
