Even at Atletico for all those years he never impressed that much though, signing a player that might never live up to the price tag

That was a near Bakayoko level first half performance. We would have routed Leicester if he did the basics right.

Instead of getting his head up and playing Mudryk in for a tap in, he is selfish a misses. Instead of keeping his head up and watching the line he goes early and a beautiful team goal is chalked off.

Instead of doing things simply he does party tricks by our own box and costs us a goal. 

127mill for him? No way near that so far imo 

ofc we can not give 120M for him

You don’t pay that much for a loan deal when you expect him to need time to get up to speed. What infuriates me is he is lazy out of possession, this is the 2nd game where he has been dispossessed close to our box and we have gone on to concede.

I like him.. he has flashes and moments that will be decisive in matches .. we need these players  had he had some more luck he would have been on 4-5 goals and 2-3 assists.

Has some real class - touch and control is so assured. Looks world class elite at times.

Then there are other times when he looks sunday league. Wtf was he doing for the leicester goal?

That said, on balance, I would like us to sign him.

Felix situation is worse than Rom. Hiding a CF/central player is not difficult, hiding a wide player is much harder. 

It is fine if you are Hazard, Messi, Ronaldo or mbappe. Felix is very good but he is not in their category.

I enjoy watching him but will be a waste of resources with everything else we need to do, and as @Bob starksaid we can't really accommodate both him and Mudryk out of possesion.

Indeed we have greater needs. The standard set by City, and any who have challanged them in recent years is so, so high.

We need a prime Cech or Tibo level Goalkeeper and an elite CF who is a goalscorer and team player, and we may need a more defensive minded CM depending on how well Kante recovers and Santos fits in.

Those are all greatest needs than keeping Felix, who showed some glaringly bad offensive weaknesses against Leicester. 

Cannot have selfish players if they are not able to justify their selfishness, like Haaland does or Ronaldo used to

Agree, the guy is a joy to watch. His game is very silky with tons of flair. You can easily argue he is our most talented attacker since Hazard. 

But when you have him and murdyk on the same field it was a horror show.

I personally think Potter and the board need to start thinking about how we want to play before making more signing. 

We already have 100m winger playing as a fake 9 and we will have Nkunku for next season. You don't want to add another 100m attacker into the mix without knowing how you want to play.

If WErner had more luck he'd have been a 20 goal a season striker and our troubles up top wouldn't exist. This has been Felix for the past 3-4 years now, what could have been.

This. He's a good player, and who knows how well he can do with a bit more acclimatizing to the league. However, one has to assume we have to prioritize where to put our money in the summer. As far as wingers/10's go we are incredibly well stocked, especially with Nkunku, so unless we're able to get him on the cheap I wouldn't pursue him at the moment. If Mount/CHO/Pulisic/Ziyech all go I guess there's a deal to be done, but I hope we prioritize a striker, defensive midfielder and maybe even a goalkeeper before Felix. I think its well established Havertz should play behind a striker, so we'd still have Madueke, Mudryk, Havertz, Sterling and Nkunku for the two in the 3-4-2-1, before potentially adding Felix

Probably  to ensure a higher price when sold.

Which is what I don't understand. If he was having such a horrid time under Simeone, why sign the extension and f**k future clubs over that want to sign you permanently?

Settling in London. Loving life at Chelsea. All well and good but no way should we spend 80m on this bloke when pressing matters are elsewhere. 

Really baffled as to how people can watch this guy with their own eyes and then they they don't want him? He is a magical player and we haven't had someone of this sort of quality and natural ability since Hazard. Even if his goals/assists numbers aren't that impressive, the sheer technical ability and vision be brings on the pitch with the quality chances created its a no brainer that we should sign him.

Only sticking point is the potential fee, but im hoping a deal cam be agreed where its somewhat reasonable. The amount we ended up spending on Nkunku, if we had known about Felix before we almost definitely should and would have gone for him. Far superior player imo

Probably an agreement between him and Atletico. Like a "You can't leave unless you sign this new contract" type of deal.

 

Need to see more end product from him. Coming across, so far imo, as all style and no substance to him.
