Except that Ronaldo was 18 at the time, not 22. I was excited after the Liverpool cameo and I can see him becoming a good player but I'm concerned we've overspent on a relatively unknown player once again.

Fair point. This is still Mudryks first season in a top european league though, in a highly dysfunctional team. We’ll see, I believe he’ll be excellent for us long term

He's got some great quality there, I do worry for him though should he finish this season with no goals or assists.

The only thing is we saw how good Pulisic looked in his first season and look how that turned out, I think Mudryk is better of course but that could also be recency bias.

Salah was similar when he joined or Mane for the saints.... .Ronaldo is in the altime great quality.. If he even comes to doing what a salah/mane have done. Money wellspent.

From what I've seen so far, he seems to have it all in there. The pace, skill, vision. My issue is spending so much on a player and then having to go "well if he puts it all together, we could have a really good player.."

Mudryk seems like a top talent, but just like when Joe Cole first arrived, his eagerness to make something happen is hurting his performances. Before he even gets the ball under control, I can see he is bursting to sprint at the opposition defence and make something happen. It makes him look a bit sloppy.

I don't think the tactics are helping him either. He likes the ball played early and in behind the defence, but he's constantly asked to drop deep with his back to goal. Ask him to do that and he will be a flop at Chelsea. We have to change tactics, but I just don't see it happening under Potter. It takes us an age to even get the ball into attacking areas. I don't understand the point in signing Enzo, Felix, Mudryk and Madueke if we are not going to play more direct.

This seems like a recurring theme doesn't it? I swear it's been like this for the past 3-4 years now.

Pretty sure someone will insist Mudryk isn't actually very good either rather soon. In defence of Potter.

Looks way worse the more he's coached. Really poor today.

Any day now...

Add Felix and Enzo to that as well.

Yes, I still miss that Felix from the Fulham for 55 minutes.

I don't know if he's carrying an injury or something, but against a team that parks the bus, seems to be madness to leave our speeding winger on the bench for 81 minutes.

Headline: Mykhailo Mudryk breaks silence on Chelsea 'unhappiness' claim following Arsenal transfer snub

Article: Under a post from Chelsea after the defeat to Tottenham, Instagram user @yugiizman commented: "Hello @mmudryk10 are you happy with Chelsea now?" The winger responded with a prompt reply, shutting down any discussions over his unrest by simply saying: "Yes."

Nothing to see here, move along.

What I don't get is he is right footed so either wing will do. You can see there is more about him than say Madueke,  so why isn't he getting game time, especially late on when the pitch is more stretched

Just hope he has the mental strength to bide his time with Potter, such a waste of talent but it’s collateral damage at this moment.

If I were to go for the bus park tactic anyway my first thought would be to get my fastest player on for counter attacking.

I find myself getting baffled weekly by Potter’s subs.
