Malo Gusto to Chelsea

Featured Replies

He’s looked great since day one, and I mean preseason. A little rash, which he’ll learn, but has all the attributes.

Still early days, but he’s the kind of player Real Madrid eventually come knocking for. He’ll give James a run now as well

Blessed to have Gusto sure are.

Mentioning that in the same article as Reece James, who Ledley King like body robs us of seeing one of our most talented players on a constant basis, not so blessed.

Gusto at his best is probably 60-70% of James at his best.

Not a dig at Gusto, just that James is arguably the most complete full back in Europe. It’s just great we now have a very good fall back option vs a dead Azpilicueta.

James is 0 compared to gusto currently because he isn't fit and hasn't been since winning the champions league.

gusto can play left and right back and looks pretty sensational so far.

James was a great player for us, but his inability to remain injury free now counts against him. Really hope that changes but the speed at which Gusto is settling into the side should be concerning to James.

Didn't realise he's only 20. Probably explains some of his brain farts but, heck, he's got a future.

Absolutely. He had a nightmare against Wolves, but he'll learn from that and improve. He's really impressive - especially for his age.

I think people are counting out Reece James way too early. We'll see how he is next season now that he's had his surgery but let's be honest, as good as Gusto can be and he'll only improve, if Reece gets close to what he was before he gets straight back in the team.

It's not so much about counting James out, I just can't see him ever being capable of bombing up and down the pitch without injuring himself.

Perhaps James could be converted to a different role that is less likely to lead to further injuries. He played in midfield for Wigan quite effectively.

I'm repeating myself, but this guy is Madrid bound one day.  I think he's superb, and will only improve with experience.

That is the ideal of the model.

I don’t know what training do they do in France. Gusto looks like he is about to pass out after 70 min, every game

He trains in Cobham...

Unless Reece stays fit this guy will be a nailed on starter.
What a bargain!!

Said it when he was bought; he isn’t a backup, he is genuine competition.
